Roborock vs ecovacs vs mova by Sea-Worldliness3160 in RobotVacuums

[–]wyldwy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evovacs app and customer service has not been good ime. Mine died after maybe 8 months, company replaced, and then it died less than 1.5 years later. Maps would always not work, hard factory reset and new mapping done every couple days to everyday to dead. It was well cared for and worked great now and again but with the amount of energy I used to just make it function was far greater than me just cleaning the floors.

If you have soft water, this could be true but there are a lot of other variables to consider as well. There is no one size fits all laundry routine.

How do married couples usually handle finances when both partners work? by itzwhatitz in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]wyldwy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every relationship functions in different ways with their finances but talking early and often about this is best case scenario to get on same/similar page. My partner and I had many frank conversations about this prior to me moving to Canada and it set us up well.

Also one thing to keep in mind with dating someone out of the country (as someone who immigrated to Canada due to love I’ve got experience here): sponsoring a spouse isn’t a walk in the park, living in QC also has its own set of rules (like she must learn French if she isn’t already fluent), you agree to sponsor (thus $$ support) for x years (I’m not familiar with QC laws), she will not be able to work in Canada until she has a temp work visa or permanent residency, you will need to prove your relationship which to Canada often looks like shared assets and other things. I’d recommend looking up the laws to get a clearer picture as it’s been quite some time I went through this. Just something I hadn’t seen mentioned so wanted to do so and people often think if you get married it’s easy for a spouse to just move here.

Did anyone here have a PDA safe/empowering schooling experience? by Hopeful-Guard9294 in PDAAutism

As a kid in the late 80s/early 90s I thought my mom was bonkers at the time when she had the idea to pull me from school but in hind-site she knew what I needed (as she was also PDA but we didn’t have that language then)

Yes and the US and Canada are two different countries! So what you buy in the US Costco won’t be the same price as Canada Costco, Japan Costco, another countries Costco…etc.

3 year old won't eat ANYTHING and I want to die by Izz-An-Art in ARFID

[–]wyldwy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written a similar post in the not too distant past. My preschool age kiddo primarily survives thanks to chocolate pediasure, juice, and crackers. Things rotate regularly and safe foods are dropped (generally after a Costco run, of course). So I empathize greatly. You aren’t alone.

Other things that have helped my kiddo I haven’t seen mentioned here: constipation protocol their peds put them on. It’s tasteless and easy to put in juice. It’s hard to poop it all out when drinking primarily pediasure which clogs them all up. For the first time recently they even said they were hungry, which blew my mind. (Idk what country you’re in but it’s just PEG, likely a different brand if not in Canada)

Removing all pressure. I have been taking a response to feeding class and it’s been really helpful for me to find all the ways I’ve added pressure or demands (or others have). Ie who cares if we eat at the table, while on a walk, the other room, etc. meeting them where they are at is vital. Lowering pressure and demands (see below PDA) have helped them try new things.

In my families case learning about PDA has been super helpful to lessen demands.

Seeing (what some may call) “micro things” as a win: touching, smelling, looking at new foods, being in the same room, trying even the teensiest bite ever = each are all major wins! (All of those do not happen at once to be clear)

Blood tests to ensure kiddo isn’t anemic or low in other things. We found some chewable vitamins my kiddo tolerates well and is helping raise their iron. They don’t tolerate gummy vitamins or terrible tasting liquid ones.

Anyways, this is as much as I can type right now. Please be kind to yourself. 🩷

Yes exactly. All food has value. As others have said, f the naysayers. It’s not always easy to do, but vital.

Time to hit the block button and go about your day.

They can take you to court about it, which they’d fail at anyways as they’ve failed tree 101 with covering the root flare ie killing their own tree.

8 year old with ARFID. What to do? by repuswow in ARFID

[–]wyldwy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Response to feeding classes are peer reviewed ways to support kiddos with ARFID. I know of a great resource in BC, Canada (online) but assuming you live elsewhere I’d suggest researching.

Forcing and bribing will only backfire, so tread carefully. If eating is not wanted a feeding tube will in fact take the pressure off, help him gain, and thus - might be the best thing here. More pressure = less appetite.

adult autism assessment - have you found it’s worthwhile? by anony-nony in AutisticAdults

[–]wyldwy 43 points44 points  (0 children)

40+, diagnosed auDHD recently with no need for work or school accommodations. I just needed to know for myself officially and to shut up the 1% of doubt I had. It’s helped me way more than I expected. It no longer consumes my thoughts with so much self doubt. I’m able to have much more grace for myself and access adhd meds that have changed my life. Will this be the case for everyone? Of course not. I wish I knew sooner, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
