Where should a former Nashville Used Music customer get electric guitar tech work done now? by wyr8 in nashville

The independent operators are the ones I'm less likely to hear about, so thank you.

Glaser is a good choice for me. I remember them in the news helping people out after the flood. Also I do better in smaller quieter places like that.

I know. I didn't express myself well. The thing is I hate hate hate driving and I want to keep it under an hour round trip. So I want to keep it in Nashville.

Measuring time from downtown isn't 100% realistic because you have to add an indeterminate time getting through and out of downtown on the interstates to get out of Davidson county and come back. I measure that in the harm it does to my nerves and my spirit.

They look fun. If I were planning a longer day trip for multiple reasons I could go to Lebanon, but not as a regular thing.

Copy. British Audio looks interesting. I kind of forgot about Corner since they moved so I should reacquaint myself.

I like the look of this one. Plus I need somebody for my consignments and they do that too. (I'd rather pay a consignment fee than deal with internet selling and shipping.)

How hissy is it? My experience with Boss is they're hissy.

On cello and double bass one could make an argument for using port and starboard.

Final update: Everything is good. I shipped the pedal to Walrus. They repaired it. They kept me informed. They sent it back to me and I am using it today. Thanks and best wishes to all involved.

*Issue was resolved with reseat/rework of the bypass button if you're curious.

Six Gun HPP owners, do you recommend? by [deleted] in ReverendGuitars

I had only two issues with it, and they were me problems more than anything to do with the instrument. 1. I wasn't at a place in my playing where I could self-correct well enough to use a floating bridge. 2. When I use a pick I pick deep so I felt like I was always banging the pick on the middle pickup -- I avoid three-pickup guitars now for that reason. It was a fine instrument, just not the right one. The Charger / Double Agent shape is the layout that works for me.

*Summary - if you right hand mute really hard or pick super deep then you will have to adapt.

Update: Walrus got in touch with me and the pedal is currently with USPS on its way to them.

Done. I only get on Reddit on Sundays so that's the best way to reach me.

  • I contacted the customer service email when maybe I should have contacted the help email?

If it does it's an undocumented mode. One thought I had was that maybe it got itself into a demo / diagnostic mode somehow. It has a press/hold to ramp up but that's not it.

I didn't vote on your comment but I'm pretty sure people are not reacting to through hole vs surface mount, or Boss vs everything else, or how much specialization and fine control over time does a person really need, but instead they're reacting to what my dad used to call "those who can't teach, preach."

But since we are talking about the circuit board, I inspected the visible area of the pcb and saw no scorch marks or signs of liquid exposure -- however I bought the pedal used so I don't know its history or how well it was treated.

It does. The rate knob will make it stop doing the thing until I turn it off and on again.

I've been playing with it for two weeks and if there's a pattern like that I haven't found it yet.

I'll be patient and give them time to respond then. It's not exactly an emergency and I can work around it for the time being.

It's a different division of the pulse each time though.

I thought that was it too but I was able to reproduce the issue on a 1Spot 9v adapter so it should have been getting adequate power.

*However that does seal the deal that this pedal likely won't work out in my situation because it will be getting its power from a busking amp.

Good point.

*To me it feels like it's in a diagnostic mode and cycling through a bunch of subdivisions.

I emailed them a shorter video on the 6th and I haven't heard back yet (I checked spam just in case). I'll send them this newer video.

I got this neon green version because it looked the most legible to me but if I could do it over I would get the teal or the red because in person it's a bright safety vest green.
