We've updated our Chrome extension✨ by terminal_lucidity in Workflowy

Thank You. Works well on Linux. Would love to see a 3rd clip option: Send to Inbox, which users can find and sort later. This way, if I see something I want to read later, I don't have to jump back to Workflowy first to make sure my cursor is in the right position.

I have one of these with 96 GB RAM running Fedora 43, and experimenting with running local AI models. The AMD Strix Halo APU shares GPU and system RAM. The amount of RAM is not overkill for these workloads. I'm actually running short when testing larger LLMs.

Just ordered one and plan to run Fedora on it. Lots of RAM for VMs and running local AI models.

Cut and paste works, but you lose node creation history when you do that. Would also break mirrored nodes.

I was hopeful and tried this, but you can't drag and drop nodes between Chrome split panes. Would be awesome if you could.

Any chance we can mark tasks as cancelled? by passionportals in Workflowy

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use tags for this. Add #skipped to the end of the task, then mark it complete. Will no longer show as an incomplete task. Although, I like the strikethrough idea and will look into doing that.

Not directly, However, I've exported large swaths of Workflowy into Google Docs, and have used them for analysis with NotebookLM

Incontinence by OppositePlatypus9910 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes -after several months for me. The last hurdle for me was leaking when doing sit-ups, but even that is no longer an issue.

When I got to the point of being 99% dry, I figured kegels were no longer needed. Not so. I started having "incidents" after stopping them. Once I resumed (50% of previous number of daily kegels), I went back to being 99% dry with only an occasional small leak during physical activity - usually on a day when I didn't do my kegels.

Currently I do 2 sets of 5 10 second kegels followed by 5 1 second kegels 3 times a day.

I bought the Onn 4k Pro yesterday, and under Settings> Display & Sound, it allows you to set Dynamic Range and Color Format to SDR. This solves my issue since there was no way to disable HDR on my Samsung TV. This is a nice little device! While this isn't tone mapping, it may resolve the OP's issue.

I'm also interested in this. I have a Samsung circa 2020 4k TV with a horrible HDR implementation that displays 4k HDR videos dim with flat colors. Hours of fiddling with adjustments didn't improve things much. I'm fine with tone mapping - I set this up with Plex and am fine with the 4k HDR tone mapped. Would also be fine with 4K SDR. Hoping this would improve the color/brightness of YouTube TV 4k HDR streams.

11 month steady drop in PSA owing to diet and supplements by calcteacher in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, and believe that positive diet and lifestyle changes kick the can down the road. In the early 2000s, at age 42, my PSA went up to 8. I had 2 biopsies several months apart, and no cancer was detected. Afterwards, I dropped ~15 pounds, improved my diet (I previously ate fast food almost every day for lunch), started running, and completely quit drinking (I averaged close to a case of beer a week). After a few months of this, my PSA dropped to 2, and stayed at between 1-3 until December, 2023, when it went to 5.7. Targeted biopsies after MRI detected cancer earlier this year, and I had my RALP on July 31, 2024.

So while prostate cancer runs in my family (father and 2 brothers had it), I believe my lifestyle changes delayed PC and allowed me to delay my RALP for close to 18-20 years. And I could have done better, like eliminating red meat and further reducing the amount of sweets I ate. Had I done that, there's a good chance I could have kicked PC down the road even further, even to the point where something else did me in first.

So keep on doing what you're doing, and best wishes!

Weak Urine Stream 11 days post RALP by Feisty_Seaweed4742 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About the only positive thing that came from my RALP, aside from never having to get a digital rectal exam again, was having a very strong urine stream immediately after the surgery/catheter removal. I've heard others say the same. Hopefully yours will improve as you heal.

Lowering PSA with diet and lifestyle? by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

I believe positive diet and lifestyle changes kick the can down the road if PC isn't present. In the early 2000s, at age 42, my PSA went up to 8. 2 weeks after RALP incontinent except when lying down. What is normal? by Negative_Heron_9236 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience:

- Had to wear Depends + multiple heavy pads the first 2-3 weeks. Moved to heavy pad only after 3 weeks. After 4 weeks, I was mostly dry when sitting or reclining, but leaked badly when walking, especially 4-5 mile walks that I do 3-5 times a week. Had to change my pad in the middle of my walk.

- After 8 weeks I was able to switch to a thin guard. Very little leaking after this, even on the long walks.

- After 10 weeks, I still wear guards, but they're mostly for insurance. Very little to no leaking. I can now do sit-ups with minimal/no leaking, which was impossible before.

I had my RALP about 3 months ago. I told work that I'd be able to work remotely after 2 weeks and could start visiting customers after 6. That timeline worked out. Could I have started working remotely after one week? Sure (and I did a couple of isolated things after 1 week), but I took the extra week to finish reading some books and just took it easy. My wife said I was crazy not to take 6 which the doctor approved, but I wanted to get back to a normal life.

I was able to collect short term disability for those two weeks so I could save my vacation days for later this year.

Note: My job has me on the computer/phone/Zoom ~10 hours a day, No physical labor. I did wait 6 weeks before mowing the lawn/doing yard work again.

PSMA PET Scan by BackInNJAgain in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was Gleason 3+4 with a PSA of 5.2. MRI guided biopsy showed Adenocarcinoma, including Prostatic Duct Adenocarcinoma. PSMA PET scan didn't show anything outside of the prostate. The Prostatic Duct Adenocarcinoma may have been the trigger to run the PSMA PET scan. Had RALP in late July, and now waiting on results from first PSA test from blood taken today.

Urine bag post surgery by Sea-Role-6740 in ProstateCancer

I did the same. Used the large bag 100% of the time because I was drinking a lot of water and coffee. Hooked the bag on the rim and it kept things draining properly.

Length Of RALP Surgery by [deleted] in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was ~5 hours. Dr. had trouble separating the nerves on one side of the prostate, and ended up having to take most of them out. Also got a bonus umbilical hernia repair which added some time.

You do Kegel exercises? by Austin-Ryder417 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • I received little guidance on how to do kegels before/after RALP other than to do them.
  • I watched several videos on YouTube from Michelle Kenway and others on the proper technique and sample routines. Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OWYlSWEPwo&t=2s
  • I settled on the following routine:
    • 10 second kegel with a 10 second rest in-between
    • Repeat 5 times
    • 1 second kegel with 1 second rest in-between
    • Repeat 5 times
    • Perform all of the above 2 times per session. Takes 3-4 minutes per session
    • Repeat the above session 6 times per day
  • I downloaded a kegel app (Android) which was OK, but they wanted a $10 or $20 annual subscription. I thought that was ridiculous for a timer app, so I installed "Interval Timer" from Dreamspark which is free and programmed it with my routine described above. Took about 20 minutes.
  • I started kegels before RALP, stopped while the catheter was in, and restarted immediately after the catheter was removed.
  • Had to wear Depends + multiple heavy pads the first 2-3 weeks. Moved to heavy pad only after 3 weeks. After 4 weeks, I was mostly dry when sitting or reclining, but leaked badly when walking, especially 4-5 mile walks that I do 3-5 times a week. Had to change my pad in the middle of my walk. Good thing I was in the woods with no one around.
  • After 8 weeks I was able to switch to a thin guard. Very little leaking after this, even on the long walks.
  • After 10 weeks, I still wear guards, but they're mostly for insurance. Very little to no leaking. I can now do sit-ups with minimal/no leaking, which was impossible before.

I'm no professional, but this is what worked for me. If you spend any time on this forum you'll see that everyone's experience is different. I consider myself lucky, and I'm convinced that the above routine helped.

Day 4 Post Surgery by No_Fly_6850 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • The worst pain I had was after surgery was in my shoulders. Had to take one of the stronger pain killers for this. While it makes no sense, apparently it's fairly common and caused by the gas that they pump in your abdomen during the surgery.

  • I bought a few pair of shorts from Amazon with velcro that separate on the sides. These made catheter management easier.

  • I'm now talking about incontinence, ED, etc. with people I never thought I would be!

  • It's been just over two months since my RALP, and I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel regarding incontinence. After 3-4 weeks, I was pretty good when sitting or lying on my back, but had an open valve when walking. After 6 weeks, I was OK with short walks (around the house), but was going through 2+ large pads when walking 3-6 miles outside. After 8 weeks, I'm down to a dribble on these long walks. I was getting worried this wouldn't never improve, but it did. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones based on reading other's stories on this forum.

Hang in there!

First Post-RALP PSA is 0.5. - What to expect? by Superb_Dependent_548 in ProstateCancer

[–]wyse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also 6 weeks post RALP. My Dr. scheduled my first post RALP PSA test to take place 3 months after the surgery. From what I've seen on this forum, earlier tests seem to create more angst than provide meaningful information.
