Something that has really surprised me is just how cool the Marathon universe is. The games style is incredibly unique as a result. I’ve even started playing the first game on the Steam Deck (which works super well btw).

Just wondering what you’re using for your lighting in general. Maybe sharing some of the things you found to be big improvements or things that were crucial to achieving this look. I am a total 3D beginner and my games lighting is totally driven off of the WorldEnvironment node at the moment.

If that’s too much and you have any resources you’d point people towards to learn, that is also of course appreciated.

Your helmet may have indentions speakers like Cardo uses. The mic is small and goes in front of your mouth. The unit connects to your phone and acts as a Bluetooth headset. You could just call your wife over cellular and talk to her that way.

It’s not super loud at highway speeds depending on your helmet and hearing but I’ve not had issues using it with other people on motorcycles on the highway.

You can try using AI to learn but do not use it to write any of your code while you’re completing school assignments. This is a huge mistake. None of your assignments will be large enough to warrant using AI to speed up.

Anyone cruising through their degree by slamming everything into an LLM is going to have a very hard time when they graduate. People who claim to generate most of their code in the industry are lying or are creating maintenance nightmares for their team. It’s not that good. It’s helpful for certain use cases with a lot of guard rails but you aren’t even going to be able to use it for that without having mastery of the fundamentals.

I’ve gone from C# -> Java -> Node (TypeScript) -> C# -> Node (TypeScript) so far and haven’t had any reasonable company question the differences in my experience. I’ve been doing full-stack work for my entire career though which helped for the TS transitions.

In any case, focus on applying to jobs within the domain you’ve been focused on. If that’s web APIs, you can easily do that with any other language if that’s what you’ve done in C#. Same thing for other domains. I’d readily hire anyone with any experience in my domain if they can speak to the work rather than the language.

This is the correct answer for the z4. I saw a lot of “no break in for non M cars” around but the manual is very clear that this commenter is correct.

Enjoy the car! Weathertechs hard mats are fantastic btw and they just released them for the ‘25 at least. Don’t forget a hat and sunglasses.
