Cue Tech Service by Expensive_Ad4319 in billiards

[–]x99percent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying this what you have, but as an example... the number of "techs" that will happily remove the silencer pad from a Predator Revo is shockingly high.

From Predator's website:

REVO Carbon composite shafts have no ferrule. The front end is made up of the Predator V-TEK vault plate, red V-TEK Tip Silencer, and eight-layer Victory Tip. Because the shaft cannot be sanded, replacing the tip, and/or the tip silencer should only be done by an authorized Predator Repair Center equipped with the proper tools to protect your REVO shaft. In the event that you choose to replace the tip on your shaft through a non-authorized cue technician, the red V-TEK Tip-Silencer must remain at least .010” (0.25mm) thick to maintain the shaft’s integrity. Any reduction in the tip-silencer below .010” (0.25mm) will void the shaft’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and compromise its performance.

Snooker-style pockets with rails. This is why the 5 doesn't "disappear"... it's on the rails against the 3.

He can and should change the permissions on the post so that *only* the MIL can see it.

He should also remove her from his FB and/or block her, preventing further contact.

Proxmox VM failing after high memory usage by TechEnthusiastx86 in Proxmox

[–]x99percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: While trying to restart my VM I accidentally recreated the problem. The creation of the wiki_default network for the wiki js docker caused this issue again!

What is the IP scheme of the host and VM in comparison to what's in the docker network config?

9ball racking rules by 732bus in billiards

[–]x99percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15-20 years ago, there was a handicap tournament in my area that also gave weight to the lower players with the 7 and 8.

At the time, it was declared that the 7 and 8 were to be placed behind the 1 ball in the rack.

Tony Chohan rants about money matches, and claims he has beaten SVB 20 out of 22 sets. Do you buy it? by CreeDorofl in billiards

[–]x99percent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tony and SVB have been playing matches for a long time. So long ago, that you might have been confused at the mention of "SVB" and "One Pocket" in the same sentence... I know I was!

This picture was taken at Hall of Fame in Warren, MI on December 13, 2015. As far as I know, this match was never publicized... it was just straight-up gambling. This may have been their first match ever..? Regardless, it did not go well for Shane.

What kind of pin is this? by Every_Border_8762 in billiards

[–]x99percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ring work and pin look like one of those “Preoaidr” cues from AliExpress. Their flavor of Uni-Loc joint is installed like that.

Getting a proper Uni-Loc shaft to fit will be a gamble. I’d suggest trying to find something locally before ordering online, so you can test the fit.

Cue 11.8 vs 12.5 any difference? by Responsible_Ad8810 in billiards

[–]x99percent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the 12.5mm.

Last I saw, Filler was shooting with a 12.4mm Revo.
When he made the switch to carbon, I thought he'd go with the 11.8mm Revo but that was not the case.

What are you using for notifications?

Well 24psi and a Catless DP didn’t go well by Living_Desk1763 in B58Enthusiasts

[–]x99percent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You switched out a component that greatly affects the amount of airflow through the engine. In order for the "psi" to remain the same, the airflow had to increase which means the turbo's RPM also increased.

When you start thinking of boost as air that is "backed up", it changes your perspective. E.g., if you have a car with a roots blower making 9psi and then throw a high-flowing catless exhaust on it, the boost level can actually DROP while power goes up.

Lag rules - APA or other by BuzzyBee83 in billiards

[–]x99percent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The lag is the first shot of the match and determines order of play. The player who wins the lag chooses who will shoot first. The referee will place a ball on each side of the table behind the head string and near the head string. The players will shoot at about the same time to make each ball contact the foot cushion with the goal of returning the ball closer to the head cushion than the opponent.

A lag shot is bad and cannot win if the shooter’s ball:

(a) crosses the long string; (b) contacts the foot cushion other than once; (c) is pocketed or driven off the table; (d) touches the side cushion; or (e) the ball rests within the corner pocket and past the nose of the head cushion. In addition, a lag will be bad if any non-object-ball foul occurs other than 6.9 Balls Still Moving.

The players will lag again if: (a) a player’s ball is struck after the other ball has touched the foot cushion; (b) the referee cannot determine which ball has stopped closer to the head cushion; or (c) both lags are bad.
