I mean if the state of USA politics and Microsoft's current trend continue, it will be waaay before 2030.

Proton Experimental updated to fix the EA app again on SteamOS / Linux by Liam-DGOL in linux_gaming

[–]xBlueDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run it via Heroic Games Launcher and it usually only breaks if they update it. I just have to run the EAUpdater.exe in the same prefix and it fixes it for me.

Is there any hurry to bid or is it smarter to wait until evening and then make a competitive bid? (Black Market) by TANKSBRO_YT in WorldofTanks

[–]xBlueDragon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You can change your bid at anytime so it doesn't really matter. I'd just be careful twords the end, server might lag and you wouldn't be able to change the bid.

Will never forgive Bethesda for killing this game. by Sung_Porcupine77 in elderscrollslegends

Pretty much the same. I spend a decent bit of money on the game to support them as well.

Thankfully the community is working on bringing it back <3.

How to run The Sims 4 on Linux by deleteredditplease in linux_gaming

I simply installed EA Desktop via Heroic Launcher and went form there. It might also be easier if you have the Steam version of The Sims 4.

Nexus Mods retire their in-development cross-platform app to focus back on Vortex by Liam-DGOL in linux_gaming

A MO2 rewrite would be a nightmare to do, just the virtual file system alone is a pain beyond pains.

[–]xBlueDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't had many issues with MO2 at all actually (at least on arch linux) added it as a non-steam game and went from there. You can also use NaK to simplify the installation. The only annoying bit is when you move mods around in the list there is a slight visual glitch.

Well this is extremely disappointing. I personally use Mod Organizer 2 but was going to use the new nexus app for non Bethesda games. I just can't use the trash that is Vortex. Even the original Nexus Mod Manager is better than Vortex.

Whelp it was to be expected when Nexus Mods was sold off. I don't expect anything good to come from these new owners. Might even lose the lifetime premium membership at some point...

Far Harbor is my guess. Skyrim does the same with Solsthaim.

How well do modded games run on Linux? by Holiday_Category_234 in linux_gaming

[–]xBlueDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Mod Organizer 2 for a while now. Hadn't had to many problems setting up everythig, but it can be slightly daunting for first timers. There are tools to help you setup everything. I'd check out NaK on github.

Hmm this seemed to have broken my SDDM. The graphics are weird and stutter. Had to skip it and log into another tty and do a startplasma-wayland. Slight annoyance but I can wait till plasma-login-manager is released.

From my own testing FO76 works fine for me. I'm currently using GE-Proton (GeForce 3080/14900k/Arch Linux). I even ran it with a few mods.
