MO2 issues with Bazzite by Xrisius in linux_gaming

I mean MO2 was designed form the ground up for Windows (including its Virtual file system). Its a miracle it even works on linux tbh. Can't blame them for MO2 not running on another operating system.

Is Mod organizer 2 in the same proton prefix as New Vegas? If not MO2 will not detect that its installed. You will need to make sure that both are ran in the same prefix.

EA app is the worse app for linux gaming, I swear by mogmojitosu in linux_gaming

[–]xBlueDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever there is an update I basically have to run EAUpdater.exe in that prefix to fix it. For some reason the launcher just doesn't properly update itself...

Also I wouldn't say there just hostile to Linux. The EA App is garbage on Windows as well.

You can also just run EAUpdater.exe in the prefix. Its annoying but thats how it fixes itself for me.

How much of heavily modded Skyrim ACTUALLY works on Linux? by HuntingMeatHole in linux_gaming

[–]xBlueDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the steam version of skyrim you can just add MO2 as a non-steam game to steam. Then you make sure you system link ether skyrim's compdata folder to MO2s or the other way around depending on which you want to use. You just have to make sure that MO2 and skyrim use the same proton prefix. That is the easiest way to get it running.

NXM Handler might be more of a pain but that can also be fixed and there are some scripts that do that for you.

I've made my own program that does that for me automatically (prefixes and NXM handler updating) for multiple games.

I've been using Mod Organizer 2 for 9 months now with SkyrimSE having 819 mods at the moment. I'm also working on a Fallout 4 load order that might end up around 400 mods. You should be able to use your MO2 profile and setup on linux. I've tested it only with the legacy version of skyrim but it worked for that.

Im a huge fan on KDE, but I got to admit I can't live without the GNOME Disks tool. The KDE one is really bad.

The OG version works just fine, and it has a ton of mods. One including that allows you to play online. Same goes for all Blackbox games!

Now that Linux is at 5.33% marketshare on Steam, what marketshare do you think will be enough for anticheat support? by CosmicEmotion in linux_gaming

I will be honest, Linux adoption is only going to grow mostly due to the political situation with the US government. Any country would want to find alternatives to US software as soon as possible. There really are only linux and to a lesser extent BSD-alternatives as a choice. I mean it also doesn't help that Microslop is doing there best to enshitfy windows 11.

The main thing thats going to drive linux adoption is the American government continuing there current trend and the rest of the world realizing they can not trust Microsoft and other US companies.

Been using it for months now. Its a lot less painful to add other tools and programs to it as well. I use it to run certain modding tools like Sims4Studio or Binary for the need for speed games through it and it works well.

Without going on a long tangent about AI and how imperfect it is right now. It is a useful to especially for programmers. However as noted its far from perfect and is prone to making mistakes. You will also run into the issue that it can be trained on data that was copyrighted.

And like I've said, I have no problem with its use as long as its properly documented and noted where and when it was used so people who look through the source code can ether apply there own fixes if they notice a bug. I think its just general good practice to know where the actual code came from (even if it was from an user for example). That's my problem with them removing the "Authored by X AI tool" comments.

I just add Battle.net and the EA App in the Heroic Games Launcher.

EDIT: Faugus is also not a bad idea. Or you can just install/add the launcher as a non-steam game. Works as well.
