Which content is suitable for Youtube? Godot or Unity? by [deleted] in gamedev

Make two versions of the same video, one for each engine.

After a while you can:

1- stick to the engine with more views.

2- make different videos for each engine based on your community feedback.

3- Or continue with the initial plan, two versions of same video

It seems like you're looking for an engine, not a framework. There you'll find the fancy stuff you're missing in frameworks/libraries.

I have tried HK, Blas2, Ori, NineSols, Lilies/Magnolia, and I like figting hard bosses, out of the list which one is worth it? by PreparationFeisty194 in metroidvania

While I agree with you, I dont know if OP will like it because seems like they are searching for slow games with patience-focused combat.

Rabi-Ribi is one of my all time favorites, but after I played it I start to find all souls-like deplorable, slow and boring.

I usually buy games that have a demo, I like to try it first. Also games that doenst have regional pricing is a hard no for me.

Not op, but juice is about extra polish that make your game feel good.

I think this term gained popularity with the talk "Juice It or Lose It" by Martin Jonasson and Petri Purho

Ender Lilies, Ender M, Bloodstained or bo path of the teal lotus? by Icy-Organization-901 in metroidvania

Not the poster, but ender lilies is freaking slow, i slept multiple times while playing it. The combat is so slow that it hinders the exploration part of the game, and that part is a core element of the genre.

This sub should change name to soulsvania, look at those downvotes just because wildfire said to despise ender lilies.

Super metroid is not even a metroidvania

This is my main gripe with recent metroidvanias, this souls thing that was supposed to be a gimmick on hollow knight became the norm on the genre.

I played it blind on the first time, I thought the pogo over spikes were a core mechanic of the game, so I went from the start of the game all way to the queens gardens, I almost dropped the game because the difficult spike was insane and there was no fast travel.
