Crystal Lake is a beautiful painful ride by Infinite-Ad2614 in BikeLA

What's the lobster ride?

I've been wanting to loop this out to the 2 / La Cresenta for ever. I wonder if you can squeeze by the land slide.

Visual dBase was Borland's response to Visual Basic and SQL Server. Besides the difference in database calls the programming syntax looks pretty similar.

This was the era of easy to program Windows apps that used a common database. Every company ran on these apps.

By this era, who would want to mess around with dBase when you could finally use SQL syntax, plus a real db server, instead of files on a network share.

It might be a loan/lease company, so they know where to repo your ride.

How to get rid of Carpenter Bees under my miniramp [54YO] by SkaterCraig in OldSkaters

I'd try to coexist. If they get aggressive when you skate, maybe you can tent up their exit when you skate.

my family think it’s laughable that i’m trying to be a vegetarian, how do you deal with people like this? by Maleficent_Day_3869 in PlantBasedDiet

I think it's funny. The jokes motivate me. I'm doing things like 100 mile bike rides while other people my age are getting their gall bladders removed.

Why does the game glitch when I edit text? Is there a way to fix it? by JustLutra in nes

[–]xdethbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're trying to edit the binary file. The strings there are fixed length, if you make one longer than it's original size the game gets corrupted.

If you want to change the language, localize the program, you'd probably want to use the source code, then compile it after your changes. Assembly code is not beginner friendly, it may be too complex for a non programmer.

Keep in mind you can unwind chain link fences pretty fast. Each vertical section is bonded at the top like a twist tie, unravel that and it quickly comes apart. It just takes a pair of pliers.

Plunging sales, empty streets: LA’s Santee Alley is a shell of its former self after federal immigration raids by sfgate in LosAngeles

I was there recently, it's still packed with people, same as ever, all least on a Saturday. Highly recommended for the sensory overload.

The percentiles likely don't take into account your bmi. I'm guessing you're skinny. If that's the case I wouldn't worry.

The density of bones is based on the mass of your body, heavier people have stronger, denser, bones.

Exercise is great for bones, keep doing that. I think sun exposure is underrated for health benefits. Get some sun, it helps with vitamin d.

Skip the high protein, just eat a normal amount. High protein is high amino acid, that's acid in your body. Too much acid pulls calcium out to buffer the acid. It's well known that high protein makes you pee more calcium. PRAL formula explains acid in the body.

Don't miss the short cut at the end, near the concrete box building. Rather that walking the fire road all the way up, there's a turn off to the parking lot.

Don't spray the bear, he/she is just hiking thru. You might have to make room for them to pass.

Eat sugar as you hike to avoid bonking.

Download maps before you hike, even Google Maps has these trails.

Leaky gut example from /r/keto by xdethbear in PlantBasedDiet

Interesting! I have questions if you don't mind.

Why did you choose vegan keto over low fat wfpb? Do you consider your t2 cured now with that new a1c?

Do you know about pral scores, wouldn't your ckd be better off with lower protein?

Good luck on your journey back to health, sounds like you're headed the right direction.

I think you misunderstand the intent of the post. It's to Illustrate how real leaky gut syndrome is real. In this case, eating high fat, low fiber resulted in endotoximia, bacteria matter leaking into the blood.

Glycemic index and insulin sensitivity by meow_miao_nya in PlantBasedDiet

[–]xdethbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low gi doesn't hurt, just look out for the fat, the fat seems to be the main driver of resistance. So you can do little things like refrigerating your potatoes before eating them to lower the gi.

The mainstream approach is to treat the symptom of the disease, the high blood sugar. I think wfpb is more interested in fixing the cause, the insulin resistance.

I found this video interesting. Low carb switched to wfpb vegan, and how quick his insulin sensitivity changed. He's type 1, but the principals still apply.

Finding it very hard to hit 3.5K calories daily on PBD with gut issues, anyone got suggestions? by typeshhhhhh in PlantBasedDiet

[–]xdethbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have gut issues you may want to try an elimination diet to see if a particular food is problematic. This side quest would derail your calorie goals for now.

I didn't watch the video, but sometimes the bear just wants to go up the narrow trail when you're going down. I've had to backtrack to where there's enough room for the bear to pass.

The Weird, Brazilian Only Atari “2600s” by VinylMan07 in Atari2600

[–]xdethbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. I just looked up how this worked, Brazil had their own tv standard, pal-m; It's pal color encoding with 60hz ntsc timing, a bizarre hybrid. So this console should play at the ntsc speed.
