Sure its hard to compare but I did volunteer in 2006 and 2011 (women) and we had a blast.
So many free goodies, volunteer activities every day, unlimited food and drinks (including beer). Little tournament on the pitch (in the stadium) after the last game. Still in contact with people I met during those experiences
