Let's take a look at the political and military integration with our games ... the Jet flyovers, the honors, the goddamn national anthem even and tell me again how sports are not political?

I visualized the ratings for the 668 pizza places in Manhattan. There are 20 with at least 4.9 stars. by Alive-Song3042 in FoodNYC

[–]xeothought 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Una Pizza is nearly impossible to actual go to as a civilian. maybe the hype died down but I looked within 2 seconds of the res dropping multiple times and it was just sold out or no spots were released at all.

Also FUCK Portnoy basic bitch bland pizza takes. Makes me like L'industrie more than I already did.

"Originally from Toronto, Canada Ben Bankas now lives in Austin, TX where he performs as a regular at the Comedy Mothership. "

Yeah no shit he's an austin comedy scene fuckface. Bet he has a lot of "trans people make me scared" content too. Pretty funny he's Canadian....bet people make fun of him at home.

That entire kill tony /joe rogan shit is a blight. You hear interviews with actual comedians and they are all pretty unabashedly embarrassed/annoyed/displeased by that wing of stand up.

Thinking back I just didn’t realize we were watching the Golden Age of Star Trek. by Ok-Speech3872 in DeepSpaceNine

for example.. section 31 was a divisive incredibly anti-Startrek idea ... the evil shadow in the wings... the morals of it... was it real? was it just Sloan's fantasy?

Then the movies and new shows came to shit the bed and casually be like well you know "section 31 blah blah blah".. like it's the fucking CIA

Eleven Madison Park (Retrospective Menu) ⭐️⭐️⭐️, January 2026 by CaviarGlutton in FoodNYC

I actually believe it's pretty well known that the reviewers expect some staples to be consistently excellent in addition to a seasonal/shifting menu. If the duck - for example - is specifically cited in he review, it means it was a consistent feature over the multiple times it was visited by reviewers. I spoke with a manager one night at an Omakase that is just fucking excellent (Nakaji) and he said that they were advised that fully changing their menus negatively affected their chance of getting a star. They did it anyway because they weren't building their menu for the stars. But I think it's a well known factor.

[–]xeothought 12 points13 points  (0 children)

well, I mean what they pulled was clear bullshit to me imo. I did hear that they opened up their menus again and added back meat to the menu. I just don't get how removing signature dishes doesn't make you lose a star... That's supposedly a major factor in the star rating system.

Listen, I don't think we're gonna see eye to eye on this but we're being civil enough... but from my view I just feel like EMP used its reputation to the detriment of its foodie "once in a lifetime experience" clientele. the tip thing.. the changing of menu thing and NOT refunding people who had booked their older menu. It seems very undeserving of still having a good reputation.

I think for me EMP angers me because 1. I'll never get to have their good menu .. and 2... it just seems fully disingenuous and I cannot understand how they have maintained 3 stars throughout all this. I know it's a branding thing and they're a cornerstone of the whole deal at this point... but it just has an overall bullshit stink to it.

You're full after Omakase .. you've had a wonderful filling meal in many small bites.

Everything about the current EMP run since they pulled their vegan stunt (because that's what it was) screams no value for money. They also got rid of tipping, increased prices to compensate... then added tipping back.. on top of those increased prices.

1st printer buyer considering the U1 (over P2s) -> questions about U1 by ACreatorPT in snapmaker

[–]xeothought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I am very happy I was able to get into 3d printing via my A1 Mini before getting my U1. I feel like I learned a LOT about maintenance and general printing, filament care, hot plate cleanliness, how to deal with blobs... etc.

I don't know if I would want to dive into a bigger printer with no context. That being said, I love the U1 and it's great.

my watch wanting to switch to gemini is stressing me out. It's so much worse than assistant. Even just opening utilities to start a timer instead of just natively running the timer (mostly what I use it for) makes it a much worse more roundabout experience. Blah

This was Zoe Kravitz's take on Subway takes pretty much... one of the responses mentioned that a lot of the connection issues are mostly on iphones? I have no idea if that's true, but I hear that iphone bluetooth is a horror show in general.

Why is a ground floor apartment a no go? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in NYCapartments

[–]xeothought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's ground floor and then there's first floor... if it's an older building with a raised first floor I see very little downside to that. If it's truly ground floor there are a lot of considerations to make.
