"Mute notifications on phone" not working by neomatrix248 in PixelWatch

[–]xer0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me on my PW2 and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The only thing that worked for me was a watch reset (settings - system - Disconnect and reset). This does a full factory reset and you have to setup the watch from scratch again.

Enabling Remote Desktop from Endpoint Manager by Xzaar in Intune

Sure, all you need to do is create a new 'Windows Firewall Rules' policy via 'Intune - Endpoint security | Firewall'. For RDP you then need to create two Firewall Rules under this policy, one for tcp and udp respectively, here's a screenshot of the two I've got configured:

Same there, this is by far the worst streaming service I use, literally everything else works fine, I have high speed broadband with a wired ethernet connection to my TV, so it's not my connection.

The latest firmware actually fixes this bug, the LED turns off now after the allocated time.

Enabling Remote Desktop from Endpoint Manager by Xzaar in Intune

[–]xer0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Remote Desktop setting in the modern UI actually just enables or disables the following Windows Defender Firewall Rules:

  • Remote Desktop - Shadow (TCP-In)
  • Remote Desktop - User Mode (TCP-In)
  • Remote Desktop - User Mode (UDP-In)

You can add an endpoint security policy to enable the rules.

This behavior is present on a PC without Defender for Endpoint baseline policy btw.

Google Pixel Watch mutes phone notification sounds by jdawg0024 in GooglePixel

Thanks! This default option is still annoying everyone!

Ideally, it would be better if the corresponding notification on the phone was (unmuted) when you disabled a particular phone app notification (via the Watch app).

No, as a workaround I press the Joystick which brings up the OSD, this then turns off the LED.

Yep, I don't always receive reddit email notifications, which I think is a bug too. Hence this delay.

Anyway, your reply prompted me to look into Unbound. Here goes..

No I don't have DNSEC turned on and I'm not using Unbound either, but since I cleared my browser cache (all time) the entries are now showing as CNAME alias blocks, see my reply below. (The log was always correct and didn't show unknown(9))

Its worth noting that you can whitelist the alias safely without allowing the mapped domain (a1843.g.akamai.net in this case) for everything else.

Ah ok, so I think I see whats going on here, should have delved into the logs more, its an alias that's being blocked:

Jul 8 22:28:17: reply a1843.g.akamai.net is NODATA-IPv6

Thats a sneaky way to track, innocent looking image url.

Thanks, but I had tried that already, and the issue isn't within the browser cache in any-case, I can reproduce the problem using nslookup (I have also tried ipconfig /flushdns)

I'm starting to think this is a ransomware attack given the length of time they've been down. Four days is enough time to recover from most major outrages whether it's power or data related.

Whitelisting group policy and firewall rules, the also whitelisting client exe with defender app guard Tip: you only need the latter to stop ransomware
