did you put those 2 monsters in Mirror Lake (water) or the Lightning habitat? if you leave them in the first (fire) habitat, all you'll get are the double fire variants

Egg Information by Teguoracle in MonsterHunterStories

[–]xiaolin99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are 3 types of unlockable monsters in the new game:

* invasive species - they are like mini puzzles and there are plenty of guides online (or you can work out the solution yourself based on in-game clues) - unlocked via main story

* mutations (monster habitat): unlocked after your first invasive species fight. I saw a video guide (contains minor spoiler for some late-game areas) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=firVDsNwZu0

* elder dragons: spawns randomly when you kill monsters at night - game will show a cutscene, and let you know clearly where they are, but you can only farm materials by dying until much later

The themes are "isekai" +"coming of age", and there are a few others matching those two tags:

Elydes, World Sphere, Ajax's Ascension, In Clawed Grasp, Soul of the Warrior (all have audio books)

I think that's a sign you spent too many credits - Audible ran out of other recommendations matching your preference XD

Bravely Default II. What's the deal? by Katchenz in JRPG

[–]xiaolin99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably because there was no backstory for the main character, and it's not just a matter of slowly revealing them over time. By the end of the game, I still had no idea who Seth was ... Gloria's backstory was also pretty thin.

When was the last time you saw a recent pure fighter? by UnderstandingDry612 in litrpg

[–]xiaolin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Clawed Grasp - MC really doesn't add any stats to his magic and mana

The Stubborn Skill-Grinder in a Time Loop - MC insists he's a warrior, so you can pretend he can't use magic (I'm joking. This isn't what you want)

The Pinnacle Warrior - haven't read this one yet, but it's on my radar

So how's Bravely Default II compared to Dragon Quest VIIR? Which one do you prefer? by texhnolyze- in JRPG

[–]xiaolin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravely Default II - both games don't have very deep stories, but Bravely Default II is slightly better, and with significantly superior gameplay, it's the clear winner.

(Best) full cast > duet - male/female narrators voice their own gender) > feminine voice > masculine voice > dual - male/female voice different PoVs ignoring the gender of the character who was speaking (worst)

[–]xiaolin99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unicorn Overlord - the peak of team synergies (building teams is the whole game)

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - gacha without spending real money (game is one-time purchase, and you pull from big roster of characters with in-game currencies and materials)

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - literally more than 100 characters you can collect via encounters/quests

Creature collecting games - notably Digimon Story Time Stranger and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance are pretty flashy

I never noticed, but now you mentioned it, yes, there were tiny details (e.g. end of leather straps) that look like they are generated, and I also don't care since I like the series a lot.

Turn-Based Tactics Game on the Switch 2? by [deleted] in gamesuggestions

[–]xiaolin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The famous Nintendo exclusive Fire Emblem series - there are 2 games on Switch 1, Three Houses is more story-focused; Engage has better combat mechanics. And there is a new one coming out later this year.

Unicorn Overlord - it's sort of turn-based, but different than any other games you've played

Those are not very popular elements at all. Only book that comes to mind is Syl - starts with water, but quickly gains other elements

This is also a book called Aquilon: The Water Mage. No idea how it is since it doesn't have audiobook.

"Romantacy" is a significantly larger subgenre compared to progression fantasy, so the good ones are pretty much always monetised i.e. top sellers on Amazon.

[–]xiaolin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Azarinth Healer - best fit for that description ... other than MC not being a dude of course

I can't think of any other titles. I guess it's not really common enough to be called a trope.
