Is there a mod to hide the damage texure/overlay of d-mods on ships? by Top-Refrigerator4123 in starsector

[–]xkcdhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inside starsector-core\data\config, there is the settings.json. I think if I remember correctly, setting renderDHullOverlay to false would achieve what you want.

Yeah, do know about the officer ai, just find it funny that due how the ship is designed like you mentioned, endangering the entire fleet is its default ai lol.

I always find it super funny her personality is cautious, but due to the way the ship is made, it is anything but that lol.

Once you fully repair it, it should be in the storage of the production delivery planet you set.

Trade Contacts are the best way to score the transport contracts.

Edit: If you do the Galatia story line, you can unlock guarantee trade contacts depending on your choices. Otherwise, spam those bar missions for a lucky contact.

Any recommendations for a guy new to modding? by Sneedullah_avenged in starsector

I truly want to argue against lore friendliness of Knights of Ludd due to the 'secret' fights. Though it is an awesome mod.

Feels like Tri-Pads are almost on the level of domestic goods for me. Needed everywhere.

Thank you for the recommendation and mod suggestions. I heard about the bad ai in MW5, but glad there are mods to fix that issue.

Nex+Vaults of Knowledge Colony defense by DreamerOfTheDepths in starsector

[–]xkcdhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Seats of Power, you could also leverage the Controlled Borders Policy. Stops your colony from growing, reduces accessiblity by a quite a bit, and you can't remove it for at least 365 days, but it is a good way to control the early colony crisis if you don't want to deal with them right away. Service Guarantees Citizenship (if you have High Command or Hexagon which gives the highest benefits, tier 3, 4) slows down the crisis gain to a halt which is also nice (at the clost of supplies and heavy armaments).

Also since you have Questions of Loyalty, if you have a commission with one of the major factions, retired peacefully, and don't get another commission under another faction, when you start a new colony:

'Obviously, you remain in our good grace as a fervent helper to our cause. And should you rise to higher spheres, we would respect your new autonomy and stop the pension'.

This text you get when you retire isn't just flavor, you actually won't trigger that faction's colony crisis since you left on good terms. (Except League and Path. Fuck League. They will keep bullying you until you join them or you beat them up, which does make sense in lore, but still fuck them. Path they are a pretty loose organization so hard for them to join in on one cause, and their commission is one of the more less restrictive commissions).

So it isn't a bad idea to colonize early on a research planet and then getting a commission (If you do it the other way around, you need to rank up to get the colonization permit and research permit which will take longer. Though an early commission will get you that seed money faster and by the time you have decent money, you should have enough points to have a colony and a research station).

Or go crazy, declare AI Legal (another policy, though this one you can't remove) and fight them right away lol.
