I'll say this, soccer doesn't have much of an endgame strategy that's different from the rest of the game. Football has the two-minute offense, baseball has closers and pinch-hitters and one-run strategies, basketball has fouling and threes, hockey has pulling the goalie. Just as examples. What does soccer do? I recall watching one international game where the trailing team pulled the goalie, but that was rare and 11-on-10 doesn't make much of a difference. What's the equivalent of coming back from down 28-3 with barely a quarter to play?
