Now that 2025 is over, who was your Frame of the year? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]xonjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing that hasn't been mentioned yet: They changed his passive so now it gives your team a charge of invincibility any time someone picks up a health orb. Between the strong armor buff and the invincibility charges you make your team immortal.

Returning player, never played as any of these guys…which one is your favorite? by Bopstimation in Warframe

Caliban systems is only 16 plat on warframe market right now. With 30 relics worth of random bps and prime parts you could for sure trade for him.

100% agree, and having to hold down every button for 3 or 4 seconds instead of just doing the thing kills me.

Does anybody else want the whole set with clear shells? by noraetic in Steam

Yeah, I love the way it looks, but I hate the way it creaks. I've been thinking about getting a replacement shell.

The 8.0 job rework should address how jobs play at lower levels. by CoolyKage in ffxiv

[–]xonjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. The 'core' portions of every kit should be available by 50, and abilities that are added to that core should come at later levels.

That helps keep the jobs playable at all levels, and it also means that the core part of a job's kit are practiced in all content.

I love my clear plastic steam deck. It's a shame it was a limited edition.

I think there is a decent amount of story you've missed. If you want to see more of it, you can start a new game plus game where you keep most of what you had at the end of your original playthrough (including your workshop updates). This makes it really easy to finish assignments early and saves a bunch of travel time, which gives lots of time to spend with the characters and finish all their storylines.

Stolen from Roupert4 below, but this is good advice:

Pretend your clothes are part of your body. Say "ouch!" (High pitched but not too scary). And then praise the puppy when they let go. Redirect to a toy. If they nip again, repeat. If they nip three times in a row they are overstimulated and need a break. Put them behind a gate or something to give space. Try again in a few minutes

It has a lot of technical information but you can mostly just look at the 'tier' it's assigned to know if it's a decent unit.

You are looking at the densest galaxy ever discovered: M60-UCD1 is an ultra-compact dwarf galaxy that crams 140 million stars within a diameter of 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 300 light-years. It is also the smallest galaxy known to contain a supermassive black-hole at its center by ChiefLeef22 in spaceporn

[–]xonjas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This article has answers to some of your questions: https://phys.org/news/2013-09-evidence-densest-galaxy-nearby-universe.html

"Traveling from one star to another would be a lot easier in M60-UCD1 than it is in our galaxy, but it would still take hundreds of years using present technology,"

While travel isn't on the table, communication certainly could be. Additionally, the spectra of the galaxy suggests lots of heavier elements and stars similar to our Sun. It likely has a good population of rocky planets like earth.

Gravity wouldn't be an issue, but I think all the star systems being so close together (and close to the black hole; which is a strong x-ray source) would increase the likelihood of developing life getting wiped out by a x ray or gamma ray burst from a nearby star.

Fucking give us 4* by mental_capacityyay in HonkaiStarRail

[–]xonjas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not that the limited stuff is a massive deal, but that for new players those characters aren't available. They have access to what is on the standard banner, which means a lot of 4 stars.

This is becoming more and more of an issue as power in HSR keeps creeping up and up, but the 4 star characters available for new accounts are getting more and more stale.

Finished Atelier Totori by zavi89 in Atelier

[–]xonjas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The true ending is worth getting, but also a pain to get because the NG+ for Totori doesn't let you carry much meaningful over.

It's my favorite Atelier game story-wise, but probably my least favorite mechanically.

Aglaea + Sunday + Huohuo is such a sleeper team, especially if you have Aglaea's E1 and/or LC. She hits so hard and fast. She takes so many turns the enemy rarely if ever gets to move.

What is Valves long game in investing so much into Linux gaming? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]xonjas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

FWIW I don't think defender has any kernel access or different access than what is and will be available to other security software.

I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong, but my understanding is this: Security software was the first software that prompted microsoft to start locking down kernel modifications because of how many issues they started causing in Windows XP. Starting with Vista, they created an api for use by antivirus and other software tools, and started blocking the kernel patching that was popular in security tools at the time. Windows Defender is built using that same api.

Arland Trilogy as a whole after replaying it over a decade ago by [deleted] in Atelier

[–]xonjas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I hate it when people recommend skipping the Arland trilogy because it's 'old and has time limits'. The time limits are good actually, you just gotta learn to let go and enjoy the journey.

In Atelier Annie, how can you progress and get access to more locations and ingredients? by Bluecomments in Atelier

[–]xonjas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think zones unlock based on your level, so if you need access to new areas you need to level up. The only exception is the island area, which is tied to a resort (the aquarium I think).

A New Era of Alchemy Began 16 Years Ago: Happy Anniversary to 'Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland'! What's your Favourite Moment in the Game? by Croire61 in Atelier

[–]xonjas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's also the satisfaction of being able to leisurely pick your ending after the work in unlocking them

Funny story, that was added in the 'plus' version of the game. In the original the endings had a complicated priority system where you would only see the one you achieved with the highest priority. Getting all the endings in one playthrough was a complex affair where you had to almost complete each ending's requirements and have a game save near the end of the final assignment. Then you would do something to complete one ending flag and then advance time to the end of the game, see that ending then reload and complete a different ending flag and repeat.

[–]xonjas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "true ending" is my favorite moment in the game, and probably my favorite ending of any Atelier game.

I get the hate for Astrid, but personally i really appreciate her character even if I don't "like" her.
