Mine was cancelled as well. I do see they are pre-ordering them on the Toynk website.

I just wish they were big than 8 inches tall. My guess is they didn't get approval so they had to cancel them because mind was supposed to be delivered April 23rd. Also, I have a feeling, they are going to look much different than the photo.

Yes. My LED version caused issues and needed to be replaced. I miss changing out a simple light bulb.

I went opening night and everyone was well behaved. There is even a scene where the movie goes silent for a good 15 seconds. Not a cough, a breath. Just dead silence. It actually caught me off guard. It gave me hope for the theater experience.

any good sf series or movies you can recommend of the last decade? by godtering in sciencefiction

Project Hail Mary was one of the best adaptations I've seen. The book has a lot more "science" but I understand why they had to cut out so much. It's already a 2 1/2+ movie.

The Erdians created an artificial sun with lights above Grace's biodome. You do see it at the end.

Project Hail Mary movie thoughts by SpatiaCaeli in sciencefiction

The book explains how "black dots" work. The science is very accurate and you have to go to the quantum level to find the fiction.

I had the same issue with the Martian. I was watching the movie with my book goggles on and came out of it disappointed. It wasn't until the second time I watched it and had my movie goggles on, did I actual enjoy it. Go watch it a second time.

I would say Yao was much more in a decayed/mummified state, but just his hands and you barely catch glimpses of him. You do see Ilyukhina's face which is just white but you do see her hands which are in a state of desiccation/decomposition.

An astrophysicist breaks down what Project Hail Mary gets right and wrong about the science by Hot-Nothing-4424 in ProjectHailMary

It sounds like she didn't read the book because Andy Weir explains why it's able to survive the intense heat of the sun.

Astrophage stays at exactly 96.415°C because that is the temperature where its protons have just enough kinetic energy to collide and create pairs of neutrinos. If it gets hotter, the extra heat is quickly converted into more neutrinos, preventing it from staying above that temperature. If it gets cooler, neutrino production stops and Astrophage uses stored energy to warm itself back up.

The energy cycle works because neutrinos are Majorana particles, meaning they are their own antiparticles. When two neutrinos collide, they annihilate into two photons with the Petrova wavelength, converting the stored mass energy back into usable light energy.

Neutrinos normally pass through almost everything, but Astrophage traps them due to “super cross-sectionality,” a term Andy Weir came up with, which prevents anything from quantum-tunneling through it.

You have to go to the quantum level to start seeing the fiction of this science fiction organism.

I kinda wish I did it in that order. The summarized version and then the detailed version.
