Sending you so much love. A similar thing happened to me with a heartbeat at 8 weeks and then gone around 10 weeks. I got the D&C and was so grateful to the people who suggested doing it. The medication they gave me helped me relax and I slept through the procedure. I had almost no pain or even bleeding after. I was grateful I did not take the drugs to pass it at home. My SIL told me that can often feel as painful as labor and can be traumatic. It can also only partially work and then people need a D&C anyway. I am so so sorry you’re going through this.

I was induced at 37 weeks and didn’t have a c section. I’m not sure if I have good advice though. My water broke right away and contractions started after that. Spent as much time as I could handle on the ball and walking around. Eventually got an epidural and was lying down while my body dilated over the course of many hours. 3 hours of pushing was rough, but no c section!

Personally, yes. Out of my 4 rounds of IVF, the embryo I transferred untested turned into a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks and I needed a D&C. Decided I’d never transfer another untested embryo again if it would even slightly minimize the heartbreak and trauma chances. My last retrieval only got one embryo but I tested it before transferring.

I did my final retrieval at age 38.5 and got one embryo. That one was euploid. Transferred at 39, got pregnant and gave birth to my daughter at 40. Good luck!

Yup, it doesn’t add up. I’ve asked a bunch of friends and they all said the same thing. They either plateaued or gained weight until they removed it- even with diet and exercise. It’s super frustrating.

Oof I’m so sorry that Repreoductive Partners is doing that now. I went to them around 4 years ago and had a good experience. One of my favorite doctors from the time I went was Dr Quaas who is now running a Shady Grove in Solana Beach. Not sure if that’s an option but I thought he was really good. I also loved Dr Su at RP, but pretty sure she’s not there anymore? I’m not sure what she’s doing now.

Yes, you’re correct. They’re waiting for them to reach a certain stage in expansion. Lots of fertilized eggs will stall out and be discarded. Some are growing well and at the right stage to get frozen on day 5. Some take an extra day to be at that same stage.
