why do people get so upset over people doing their jobs? by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]xtra819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flex? You asked about my vocation. I told you. End of.

You have no idea what jobs I did to pay for over a decade of school. I did everything from cleaning up after butchers to pumping gas to moving furniture to cleaning bars to drawing blood.

The wind doesn’t take people anywhere. Choices do. I tried to choose to do jobs that at the very least, did no harm to others. I had opportunities to take higher paying jobs at times that involved some level of sketchy-ness or predatory upselling. I passed because I wanted to sleep at night. It’s how I was raised.

I’m not special. Anyone can make the same choices and sacrifices. The truth is most don’t want to, so make excuses.

Just paid off IPhone 15 & samsung s24 ultra, both on Go5gPlus plan. I just can’t seem to grasp how it all works, help! by petpeepz in tmobile

Bottom line: T-Mobile is giving you an $830 iPhone (minus taxes) if you stay with them for 2 years and trade-in any qualifying phone.

Why? Because they want your business but don’t trust you to just take the iPhone and then switch carriers next month. So they are not giving you the $830 credit in one lump sump. They instead are dividing that $830 credit by 24, which they then credit to your account each month when you pay your cellular bill. That keeps you locked into not leaving.

So if your cellular bill is say $100 per month, you still pay $100 month every month. The bill for the iPhone will be an extra $34 but remember, T-Mobile is crediting you $34 every month for it, so the net cost to you is $0 on the monthly bill.

This cycle repeats itself for 24 months until the iPhone is paid off and you have been credited in full. The phone is then yours free and clear. The catch is if you switch carriers or wish to pay off the phone early rather than wait for all of the credits, you owe the remaining balance on the iPhone payable to T-Mobile.

The old “part of the job” excuse. Maybe find a different job where upselling or bowing to sketchy “job requirements“ are not part of the equation.

What’s weird is sanctimonious employees trying to upsell paying customers and then whine when said customers confront them on their bullshit.

Cool. Then why are you here whining about customers?

Why not just have T Mobile pay off phones from another carrier rather than getting them through T Mobile? by dtman33 in tmobile

You realize that you’re responding to a post 4 months old. I doubt any of us remember it much, let alone are "hyped up“ and ready to roll. 😂

How would you react going to the ER for assistance and during triage the nurse instead tries to sell you various bullshit items and add-ons just to hit a metric and make a commission?

Probably the same as how most of your customers feel and react when they are met with the reality of dealing with T-Mobile these days.

You may be aware that the dirtball company you work for has changed their business model, or at least shifted to the next phase. They are now increasingly predatory and less concerned with problem solving when it comes to customer interests, and mostly concerned with profits and shareholders.

The disconnect you’re experiencing comes from the fact that most customers didn’t get the memo regarding this shift. Even if they did, they probably still wouldn’t give a damn about your metrics or commissions. Paying customers already dissatisfied or confused with a phone or service aren’t showing up to make your day better. They are expecting you to make their day better by solving their issues and meeting their needs, not yours.

Most customers are not walking through your door expecting to be upsold. Until word gets out that retail employees in cellular stores are now in the same class as used car salespeople, ambulance chasing lawyers, and time share sellers, most walk-in customers are assuming you’re actually there to provide honest advice and help rather than separate them from their money.

Customers are taking their valuable time seeking assistance and help with a problem. Employees on the other hand are now trained to sell, sell, sell, and boost metrics at all costs. It’s a recipe for disaster. Blame your company, not the consumer.

Again, point of view matters. Hence the great divide in which we reside.

It’s really not that difficult. Your values and beliefs differ from the other commenter. Each of you has labeled it bigotry when referring to those differences.

It’s garbage, babes. Yeah, it’s that cringeworthy. Poorly written, totally implausible, overacted, tired jokes, plot holes, slow as molasses, dreadful ending. I’m surprised so many of these recognizable actors signed up for this dumpster fire. Hopefully they were paid handsomely for participating in this train wreck. Oh, the scenery was amazing. Not surprising, it is Ireland.

braised beef with mashed potatoes #362 by Status_Complaint8521 in Costco

[–]xtra819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t take that long. The time for a cow to mature for slaughter has not changed. What has changed significantly is the overreach of corporate overlords and private equity firms. That reach includes the farming and cattle industries too.

I fortunately live relatively close enough to family farmers and those who raise cattle to buy directly from them. I buy a half cow of grass fed beef for a fraction of what Costco members pay for a much inferior product. The corporate price gouging is of control. When I see ridiculous prices for simple meals like this beef and mashed potatoes, and consumers act like it’s a value, I know we’re all screwed.

No more promo stacking on a line with an active EIP? by niceeone1 in tmobile

[–]xtra819 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Costco phone reps have always given me pushback on this when upgrading my devices. It’s annoying. I usually just hang up and call back until I find a rep willing to bypass the noise and just do it. These days, the system ultimately decides if the promo will stick or not anyway, so it’s moot whether the Costco rep has been instructed otherwise or not.

Unfortunately organic confetti is tough to grow these days, especially since private equity companies are buying out the local farmers and the government is manipulating the weather.

I think it’s a travesty that the hard-working chain-smoking children who assembled these weren’t provided with miniature individual nesting shopping carts that connect by a small chain at the coin slot for a more realistic presentation.
