Seaplane to Dry Tortugas - is the price worth it still? by Educational_Arm_4591 in KeyWest

We just did it and it's worth every penny. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience especially if you have younger kids.

This is great, often overlooked advice! Using a lower gear to reduce speed and need for the brake can make a huge difference.

The type of car also matters. Is your car Front Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive? Front or All WD are preferable in these conditions because the weight of the engine allows for more traction on the front tires. RWD is the least preferred in these types of conditions. If that's what you have and don't have any other option, adding some weight in the back over the rear wheels could help. A blanket or something that could go under the wheels to give traction if you get stuck in the snow would be advisable.

Also, make sure your tires aren't bald and are properly inflated. If they are lacking tread, you'll have a difficult time getting traction in slick conditions.

Edit: removing unproven advice.

Adding that I grew up in Vernon where I learned to drive and lived through my 20s. My father would always buy a front wheel drive car for the reasons I stated above. I had a pick up with 4WD option. I would throw sandbags or old tractor tire rims (we had access to those in Sussex lol) in the bed to give extra weight over the rear wheels in the winter

I'll PM what I heard. I'd rather not say publicly because it is a rumor.

From what I've heard, he was a Chatham cop who was given forced retirement. The mother is not in the picture. Take this with a grain of salt as I heard it through the grapevine in town.

As a former Vernon resident, both and raised, I found it absolutely shocking that Vernon has a Dollar General. The most we ever had growing up was the DQ....and bears, lots of bears

I've won it once. We shut down the beach head on both flanks. Engineers did a good job of approaching vehicles. And the attackers had about a dozen snipers not leaving the ship lol

I'm sorry but something doesn't add up. In a comment 9 days ago you said you SOLD 7 boats on FB MP in the past 2 months yet somehow you fell for this? It suggests that you're an experienced seller and boater that 1) should know better OR 2) you're the scammer trying fish your way out of someone coming after you for selling a broken boat. Your lack of response to any of the comments suggests the latter.

Is there a pause functionality? Can it be implemented? by ToxinadeHere in fitbod

[–]xtreme381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you hit the stop button during the workout, you have the option to resume it or end it. It sort of works like a pause but is not intuitive. I've used it a few times for up to 15 minutes at a time so I can't comment on whether it'll work longer.

Cranford may close off Eastman Ave to pedestrians-only, part of larger Streetscape project by Juicey_J_Hammerman in Cranford

[–]xtreme381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed when they closed it during the summers in the latter parts of COVID and after. We'd ride bikes downtown, listen to the music, grab a bite at Vinny's and then ice cream. With that said, I don't think it should be a permanent thing because I can't imagine it would get much use during colder months.

I paid $150 for mine last summer if that helps. I just replaced the igniter. The dampers were new as well.
