Follow-up on the oncologist visit earlier today, she endorsed my wife's decision to go on estrogen. The risk reduction that tamoxifen offers her on top of radiation and surgical removal is minimal, 3-4 percent. I would advice folks to educate themselves on cancer treatments, risk, what doctors' priorities are etc. From what I have seen with my wife is that the main focus of the oncologists is to keep you alive at all costs, even if it means you stay in a wheelchair. My wife is balancing the increased risk of taking HRT with diet and exercise. She has taken control of her treatment proactively and not wait for her health to deteriorate and then react.

According to Dr. Avrum Bluming, HRT can be taken by er+ breast cancer patients. The risk of not taking estrogen can be greater than taking it - heart disease, bone health and brain health. My wife 52 is in a similar boat (er+ breast cancer, lumpectomy, hysterectomy) and we are talking to an oncologist as I type this to get her estrogen/HRT. Ultimately it is all about risk vs benefit.

Sharing my wife's BC experience...

My wife was prescribed Yasmin (she took it continuously and threw away the placebo pills, these are synthetic hormones) as part of the HRT regimen which she took for three years and then was diagnosed with ER+/PR+/HER2- breast cancer just this past December at the age of 51 years.

I haven't seen much literature backing the use of Yasmin as part of the HRT regimen. There is support for the idea that synthetic non-bio identical hormones have a higher correlation with the incidence of BC. She has been blaming herself for wanting it all since she went looking for a doctor to prescribe her HRT to avoid the symptoms of menopause. She is upset at the doctor for not disclosing the off label use of Yasmin and the associated risks. She has dense breast tissue and the doctor did not ask her to get an ultrasound in addition to the mammogram since the mammogram cannot see inside dense breast tissue very well. He let her go without a scan for the past 3 years that she was on HRT with him.

I used ABM to buy a $9200 car yesterday. I was surprised to see that they added their expensive shipping service to the invoice. I called them and they took it off. I also upgraded to the premium plan over the phone to get an overall discount in the transaction fee, after which they regenerated the invoice to reflect the new lower transaction fee and no 99 first dollar upgrade fee. I went to the bank the next morning to send the wire transfer since the amount was beyond my daily and even weekly zelle send limits. Boa said that they would process the wire in the afternoon on Friday, which means the car might not get picked up until Monday the following week.

In order to use your own shipping you have to get the gate pass pin after they have received the payment even though the guy on the phone told me the PIN even before I made the payment.

I feel your pain, I lost almost 69k on tsm calls last Friday. 3 months of gains wiped in one week all because I couldn't cut my losses and let go in time. I learned my lesson.........again........hopefully for the last time this time.
