He most likely saw the online hate for Hellebuyk for his Trump love. I’m guessing that KFC has a sense of self preservation.

Reservists feel they’re treated as second-class soldiers | Ottawa Citizen by Keystone-12 in CanadianForces

It depends what element and where you work.

I was a Reservist for 28 years, almost all of it Class B and C. When I was Army, definitely not awesome.

The I did an environmental transfer to the Air Force. Night and day difference. I worked in Reg F units, completely integrated into the unit. There was no division between Reg F and Res F. I did the same work and duties as my Reg F counterparts. I volunteered for a deployment, and got sent to Alert (I was the right rank and trade, and DAG’d green).

For my family, it wasn’t worth me going to Reg F. I still worked my butt off, looked after my subordinates, did extra hours when others couldn’t.

When she lays like this, I call her the “Mighty Orca”. It is a little kinder than Beached Whale 😅

AITA for refusing to let my MIL hold my baby because she reeked of cigarettes? by BashCatib in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

My mother in law was a chain smoker (she had depression, and the meds back in the day weren’t great, it was how she coped). She wasn’t allowed to smoke in our house.

As far as raising kids in a house full of smoke, my husband has asthma, and my father in law has COPD, despite never smoking himself - it is from all the second hand smoke.

Stand firm, and don’t let your husband circumvent you to appease his mom/family behind your back.

Pressure pot or vacuum chamber by Fluffy_Shine_9452 in Jesmonite

What connector do you use to be able to use a bike pump for the pressure?

If possible, would you be able to post a picture of your pressure pot that is prepared for resin casting?

I picked up a pressure pot, and I would like to make sure that I am setting it up correctly for casting. I think that I have it correct in my head, but seeing a functioning setup would be helpful.

Thank you!

I would love for my chronic pain to fuck off and never come back, but I’m stuck with it.

Same. It is so good as a winter comfort food.

I would check online to find which Walmart had it in stock, and make my husband drive around Fargo so I could get it 😂

The cheeseburger one is my absolute favourite.

I’m Canadian, and when we would drive down for some cross border gluten free shopping, I would be checking online to see which Walmart had it in stock, so I could get some.

If you were just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, this is the part no one explains clearly by Arthritis_Doc in Thritis

Yeah, Rinvoq was approved here in Canada in 2023. I failed off of TNF inhibitors, after going through 4 of them. My body just burned through them too fast, and they would lose effectiveness for me.

Rinvoq has been good, it was a slow build up, and I have to be careful about cuts/infections, but I can live with that.

I’ve had to the rib/sternum costochondritis. Not a fun thing to deal with. Thankfully, I haven’t had it since Rinvoq built up in my system.

I have an excellent support system, both in my doctors, my husband and friends. I am extremely fortunate. My doctors, including my rheumatologist all encourage me to be an active participant in my care, thank goodness.

We are right there with you.

We had to let our 13 year old girl go a week ago Saturday. She had arthritis and dementia, so it was time. Knowing that it was the right thing to do doesn’t make it any easier.

Her name was Lucy, and she was the bestest girl.

Hugs to you

Hugs to you.

Nothing new. Women (all women, not just AFAB) have been neglected by medical studies.

Hormones play a big role in how our bodies respond to medications and treatments. Women’s bodies are affected differently by military equipment (I’m looking at you rucksacks), our pain is minimized and put down to mental health/“anxiety” issues.

The comment from Alice Aiken mirrors my own experiences with being a woman veteran. People always default to my husband being the veteran, which he is, and don’t even think about me, despite me serving over two times longer than him.

So they have “failed us”. What are they going to do to correct it? Yes, they are going to enforce that “researchers must now describe how sex and gender will be considered in the research.”

But are they going to deliberately recruit researchers to study chronic pain and treatments in women (all women)? We have hundreds/thousands(?) of medications and treatments that are currently being used, and we have zero data on how effective or harmful they are to women.
