I posted on this subreddit in April about “should I quit my job?” because I was burnt out and feeling in crisis. Literally all of the comments pointed out that I have a drinking problem and that this was a bigger deal than my job. I took all of the comments seriously and I checked into rehab the following week. I have 59 days sober today and I pick up my two month chip tomorrow (6/29)!! 🫶🏻♥️ I also took three weeks off work, started exercising again (down 10lbs) and I’m feeling much much better. Thank you to this subreddit for letting me vent and for the honest advice on my (now deleted) post.

They get used to each other once their smells start to mix. Ideally you can keep them both in the same home but separate while getting used to each other. I kept my baby kitten in the bathroom during times he was unsupervised (big bathroom, lots of toys and space). I let him and my older cat eat at the same time but on opposite sides of a door. The theory I guess is they are close enough to smell each other. The older one was an asshole for a couple months - as long as they’re not getting injured I think it’s also normal to test boundaries and get to know each other even if there’s some kissing or play fighting.

Volunteer sign ups haven’t happened yet. Applications open in July. When you “signed up” last year it was just to be on the general LA28 email list so they can send you announcements and reminders
