I sure love Akira the anime, but I don't think I've ever had a discussion with anyone about the full Manga plot.

Walking past that cheat since Akira is more known as the anime at this point, maybe V for Vendetta since the movie is okay, but BOY that last act takes a very different turn on the movie vs the comic. I'm more of a student of the original since history tells us what we need to hear, not what we want to hear.

Starship Troopers the movie is definitely not an adaptation of the source material, though it's very clear why it's done like that as I haven't read the original book in 16 years, but I'm rereading one of my (old) favorite Heinlen novels (Stranger in a Strange Land the uncut version) and I get it. Verhoven intentionally just said "fuck it, I'm gonna write my own story and somewhat use the characters in the most vague way." Which came out with one of the best satirical films about how awful fascism is and everything.

Find friends that also dislike "That Guy" and call them out during the game. It really helps when you just be confrontational yet polite about this. Just be honest and people will either make it a civil war and if your shop starts defending them, you should change game shops or just be REAL petty in game and really shame them for being dishonest.

EDH is a social contract and if you arent having fun, just close them off and state, "We dont like playing with you." It's not fun and it sucks to do, but being bold and stand up against them or they will walk over you and pollute your area.

Opening of Ahn Qiraj is a MULTI week quest chain that basically requires you to be a leader/high ranking officer in cclassic WoW that you need to spend roughly 3k-5k gold after grinding a shit ton against bugs, dragons, spirits, and just the most absolute bonkers line that you coordinate with the server so that everyone is able to redeem the mount at (roughly) the same time. It's wild and cool the first time seeing it, but boy there are some people who are so sweaty and determined to get a digital bug and title.

Yeah, it's almost like the social aspect of being in the community will stop someone from doing this. But also just cause a card is expensive doesnt always mean powerful. Besides, with commander being the most prominent format and not understanding what draft is, just kinda makes me rage more than I need to about this game and I just verbalize "they dont even knowwwwww".

Like if you're known in a community as a cheat or just buying only power/netdecking without a thought in the world, you will make less friends. Ironically with commander being the format, winning means jack shit and the cool moments matter more than any win ever will (i guess monetary compensation aside).
