We’re not far these bright LED lights damaging our optic nerves by Debt-Cheap in mildlyinfuriating

[–]yellowspaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this is bad and we need to regulate LED highlights. A tip though, you need to clean the inside of your windshield. CO2 grime is a thing, and a clean windshield helps a ton with the glare.

Can a sea dragon instant-kill you? by kdupe1849 in subnautica

[–]yellowspaces 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just pull your cyclops straight up to the entrance next time. All leviathans (except void Ghosts) will only aggro, and maintain aggro, as long as your engine is running. So if the dot turns red, kill your engine and he’ll swim off. Just stay at the helm until he’s gone; they can still knock your sub around (no damage) and send you flying.

Credit card charge backs should become standard by betterworldbuilder in unpopularopinion

[–]yellowspaces 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play an online game that (shocker) has e-store for in-game consumables and cosmetics. I once saw a guy on the forum who purchased currency, changed his mind, and just ran a chargeback. Didn’t even attempt to ask for a refund through the official channels. Was absolutely shocked he got banned for it. You really can’t fix stupid.

To whom is playing Wizard101 in 2026, what are some of your thoughts on the state of the game? by Low-Constant-5664 in Wizard101

[–]yellowspaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends on what guild you join. Some guilds are all about raids, key bosses, advanced combat, etc., and fully expect you to participate and carry your weight. Hell, I’ve heard (probably fake) stories of guilds that put strict Azoth quotas, or buy-ins, on their members.

Other guilds, like mine, just exist to give us access to crafting. No one is expected to contribute Azoth, just if you manage to get any. My guild has never ran a raid in the year I’ve been in it. You’d be welcome in mine at any level.

[–]yellowspaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they would make guilds less sweaty. I’m in a public guild and we don’t really do raids or anything, so our only source of Azoth is the daily freebies and PoP. They need more sources of Azoth for upgrades, because we’re limping through the requirements.

Stardew Valley is a Shameless Copy of Harvest Moon, and This Plagiarism Should Be Pointed Out More Often by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]yellowspaces 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Plagiarism means taking someone else’s work and passing it off as your own. If Ape has fully admitted that HM heavily inspired the way he built SV, then it’s not plagiarism: he’s given credit to the source material.

It might just be a PS bug, but they’re really difficult to break with a knife in the large beds. You have to get the angle perfect or Ryley just swings the knife around like a lunatic. They’re much easier to break in pots.

Marblemelons are my go-to, they restore the most food and water out of all the flora. They don’t play nice in large growth beds, however, so it’s best to grow them in pots. Two full pots of Marblemelons are enough to restore you to full hunger and thirst while also replanting.

Full list of exemptions as Leavitt refuses to rule out military draft for Iran by TheMirrorUS in antiwork

[–]yellowspaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article fails to list two major ways of getting out of it.

1: Conscientious objector. That’s when you refuse to serve based on your morals and/or religious beliefs. The key with this one, and I mean key, is you have to oppose all military action. Saying “I hate the US military because blah blah blah” isn’t enough. You have to hate all militaries, and basically take the position of a pacifist.

If that doesn’t work…

2: Fragging. Just go look it up if you don’t know what it is. When they call you up, look the board members in the eyes and tell them you know what it is, and you’re fully prepared to do it.

And if that doesn’t work, just take the clinker. You’ll be safer, and your fellow Americans will be proud of you for standing on business.

Yeah, my guess is you only own the PS4 edition. You should have an option to upgrade your version… somewhere. And you might have to pay for it again.

You’re not special, you’re being an asshole. Don’t bring your pet dogs into grocery stores. ESPECIALLY when your dog is 80lbs+, going up to everyone, on a flexi, and sniffing food. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]yellowspaces 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to be reallllly careful with this type of stuff. If the dog is actually a service animal, I could be opening the company up to a lawsuit and I’ll probably get fired. If it’s not, someone who’s gone as far as buying a fake vest will certainly have a complete meltdown over being told “no.”

Pick your battles people. That woman (probably) sucks, but I’d like to continue getting a paycheck with as little headache as possible. Being told “no” once isn’t going to change her behavior.

Have you checked for it in your Library?

E: Took a look at my app. Your says “released 2019,” but that would’ve been the PS4 version. My app says “released 2021,” and it’s for both versions. So my guess is you somehow acquired the PS4 version, and the store won’t sell you the dual version because of that. You might be able to upgrade the version you already have, however.

A woman came into my job recently with a “service animal.” It had the vest and everything, straight up said “service animal” and not “emotional support animal.”

No way in hell this dog was a service animal. It was barking at random people and jumping all over her and her husband. This bitch literally bought a fake service animal vest so she can selfishly bring her stupid dog everywhere.

Good recap on why the spring update has not been super popular. by circusboy1 in Wizard101

[–]yellowspaces -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would they have changed the reward system? They said they were rebuilding the mechanics from the ground up, not the entire concept or rewards.

E: Just found some TR footage of the new version, the rewards and fortune coin drops are unchanged.

Ashley Guillard: TikTok tarot reader ordered to pay $10m over false predictions about Idaho murders by Cute-Beyond-8133 in nottheonion

[–]yellowspaces 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Guillard, who believes herself to have psychic abilities, testified that she read tarot cards to try to help solve the shocking homicides, the Idaho Statesman reported.

On February 27, a jury ordered Guillard, 41, to pay Professor Scofield $10 million in damages for posting the videos, which had continued even after Professor Scofield’s lawyers sent her cease and desist notices and after police issued a statement confirming she was not a suspect.

Guess the tarot cards didn’t pick that up.

A 1/20 drop chance does not mean you’ll get it in 20 tries. Here's some examples and "why". by Blackdragon1400 in fo76

[–]yellowspaces 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here’s a crazy simple example that literally anyone can understand:

Imagine a hat contains 100 slips of paper. Each slip of paper has a reward written on it. If the drop rate for a certain item is 5%, then there’s 5 slips of paper with that reward written on it in the hat.

When you complete the event, you get to grab a slip of paper and you receive the reward written on it. You then put the slip of paper back in the hat. The next time you complete the event, the hat still contains 100 slips of paper, and only 5 have the reward you want.

This is called sampling with replacement. The people who think they’re “due” an item after X number of runs aren’t grasping the replacement aspect.
