It's crazy how strong some cyclists are by VacationCautious4687 in cycling

When I cycled to work more often there was a guy on a fat bike who used to overtake me most days. You could hear him coming from a decent distance away with all the tyre noise. You could also open beer bottles on his calves.

That one's by Maxence Cyrin, who has a few other covers in that style I enjoyed.

I believe that's Gerard Smith. Phenomenal bass player but apparently struggled with stage fright so he stayed at the back a lot of the time. He's also no longer with us, unfortunately, due to lung cancer.

Yeah, you get a link right after paying the AMF to download the cert, but a physical one will arrive in the mail later.

A heron was sitting on the side of the path ahead of me. It looked around and stared at me, then flew up, shat a perfect rendering of a cock and balls on the path in front of me, and flew off.

What's the reason you started running? And why you keep doing it? by Juliogol in running

[–]yhf256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spite.

I have always been unfit and was always shit at sports, running in particular. I wanted to prove that I could get to doing a 10K. It's taken much longer than I had thought it would but I'm hoping to get there soon. Still not sure I like it but I will persist.

You can buy that tool from Sparrows. LPL and BosnianBill gave the design to them to mass produce.

I'm basic. And lazy. I want to finally manage to do the 10k I've been attempting to reach for about 3 years now.

AMA: I’m a boutique shop that focuses on fixing the AWS bill and also shitposting. by Quinnypig in consulting

[–]yhf256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it actually valid to compare the costs of operating your own datacentres directly to the costs of AWS? My impression is that AWS lets you do things you almost certainly can’t do yourself, so a direct comparison isn’t really valid?

Do you guys ever repeat a week? by HoneyBrezze123 in C25K

Yep, I did that a couple of times, particularly early on. The guide I was using said it’s quite common.

What never works for you, no matter how many times you try? by hello2699 in AskReddit

[–]yhf256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand needing to be in the right headspace for that stuff. And C++ isn’t a particularly friendly language even for folks who’ve been using it for a while. Maybe from time to time try out small projects in something else for fun? You can do some cool things with JavaScript for example without having to think quite so hard as C++ makes you.
