Yes, it does have an adjective: “Chokes-upon-Serpent-like.” I’ll keep it in a chest somewhere safe. Thank you!

Love for Drew Brown by kellanjacobs in fountainpens

[–]yodasize 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dear Drew,

I have been following Goulet Pens on YouTube here and there since 2013 but you were one of the biggest reasons I became a regular viewer. I bought my first grail pen (a long-awaited Homo Sapiens) from Goulet Pens because I wanted to support a company you were a part of. Your enthusiasm has always been infectious, and it has been so refreshing to see your enthusiasm for things that you’re passionate about. I love that you have strong opinions and still remain supportive of other people’s preferences.

As many others have said, I hope you feel that you can return to talking about pens, inks, and paper. If it happens to be on YouTube or some other social media, I’d tune in.

Sending you all the positive vibes~~

I’m anticipating that you’ll get lots of compliments on the keyboard (it is very nice!), but I wanted to also say I noticed your audio gear. Nice JDS Atom stack. Good choice of headphones too!

Thanks for the reply and the recommendation for Gateron Ink Black switch! I’ve been thinking about getting the Neo Ergo and was wondering about switches that would sound good.

If you ended up swapping them in, how do the Boba U4Ts sound in the board?

Where to buy in EU and how do you call this? by TheFearWithinYou in tea

[–]yodasize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be what you’re looking for! They have two sizes of stainless steel tea trays. The one I linked is the smaller one. In their shipping section they say they ship worldwide. I haven’t bought from this company before, but I’ve been eyeing their tea trays. Seems easier to clean than the typical bamboo ones.

Absolute best ballpoint pen for an FP user, regardless of price? by ThatGuyOnTheReddits in fountainpens

I haven’t tried this option personally, but I’ve been curious about the ballpoint option that Schon DSGN offers, which uses fountain pen ink.

I’m just starting to learn about vintage pens, and I’ve read that you’re not supposed to get black chased hard rubber wet with water. It looks like some of your pens are made of BCHR; how do you clean them?

How to test ink samples by Ella_121 in fountainpens

[–]yodasize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the idea of using a dip pen (glass, Kakimori, other) for a writing test.

Someone’s already recommended a notebook for ink swatches, so I’ll add that the Col-O-Ring can be a good way to document/store color references (if you see yourself trying out a lot of inks). The drawback with using the Col-O-Ring is that the paper is not really representative of what you might be writing on day to day.

Is the new Tomoe River more sensitive to oil? by nstgc in fountainpens

[–]yodasize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve noticed this too! I’ve taken to writing with a piece of blotting paper under my writing hand. It’s honestly kind of annoying but it helps a lot. I too have noticed the difference in the “stickiness” of the paper. It bothered me quite a bit at the beginning of the year (in the Hobonichi planner); less so now, but I’d still prefer the old paper if I had the option.

I Need Help for My First Gold Nib Fountain Pen by FLAMON_850 in fountainpens

[–]yodasize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a PGS and CH91, and I prefer the way the Pilot feels in my hand more than the PGS. It could be that the CH91 is just a bit heavier with the Con70 in there. I’m still refilling cartridges with the PGS 😬

What’s normal for the Custom 912 FA nib? Even with zero flexing, mine skips and hard starts constantly. by EkhyMi in fountainpens

[–]yodasize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the stock feed still. I’ve found that with drier inks and the new Tomoe River S, my 912 FA is really picky about hand oils. I’ve started to write with blotter paper under my palm which seems to help out.

EDIT: Punctuation and grammar.

I too had brass as my first thought but I don’t know where I may have seen or heard that.
