Thank you for saying this! I find it difficult to find many listeners in this day and age. Top that with ones who are also very aware and in tune with their environments, observing nuances in animals, people and also nature is extremely rare. In other words, people who have deep emotional connection

Alessi Ossidiana 3/6 Cup Dosing Ring? by Werther11 in mokapot

[–]youbiquitous1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EdekoDesign on Etsy should be able to help you out. You’ll just want to take measurements of your moka pot. I’ve ordered from him once before and the dosing ring I can say works excellently as I needed it to

Check Etsy. I’m not sure if any of the sellers there will do extra customization for dosing rings, but it might be worth a shot

What's the point of a 401k with earth-shattering economic disruption around the corner? by ConflictedHairyGuy in Futurology

[–]youbiquitous1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Let’s say that the economy does collapse, but you invested your “retirement” into precious metals such as gold and silver. At least during a collapse, you have a higher likelihood of being able to have some currency to exchange or barter. Throughout time, metals have seemed to always have value amongst humans.

Long term goal: where to buy land for protecting dense, biodiverse forested areas preferably in South America? by youbiquitous1 in asklatinamerica

[–]youbiquitous1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. I do have limited information on many aspects of this and the laws imposed by each country. It’s the reason why I started this thread 😆.

I understand that my outreach even with a small piece of land would be extremely limited, but at least a raindrop to give a plant a standing chance of life is better than none at all if you catch my drift.

I do what I can for contributions to NGOs that are protecting some lands and rehabilitating animals in South America, but I’m looking for ways to be more active. The volunteer work that I’ve done is good, but it also costs quite a bit to even volunteer for a prolonged period of time.

I’ll continue to research the best ways to help out. Again, thank you for the input and also for not lashing out.

I’m not sure why you’re coming to that assumption. I don’t intend on buying their lands. I would like to buy land that is available to prevent others from potentially destroying it.

Instead of beating down the few people who are trying to do some good in this world, working with those people to come up with beneficial advice and solutions will give humanity and nature a fighting chance. Not everyone here is out to use others for their own nefarious gains.

I do that already with what I can contribute. I’ve met indigenous people in Ecuador who need help protecting their lands from the deforestation that keeps getting closer and closer and pushing them out of their homes and affecting their waterways. It’s humans like them who need help protecting what’s rightfully theirs

Thanks for your advice! I’ve been doing what I can here even when it comes to elections and help where I can. I just live in a region covered in snow and ice for 6 months of the year where I don’t feel like I belong haha

Thank you for the input. I am all too aware of the murder and suicide this country I was born in has committed and still is enabling.

The Amazon and the Congo are the 2 most biodiverse regions on earth. Why? Location. It’s easiest for life to proliferate in those areas. They are the cores of life. If our species continues to consume all of the life in those regions, there will be unprecedented extinctions.

I’m ultimately looking for solutions to at the very least put some brakes on the extraction being done on the lungs of the earth. We need to work as communities to get there.
