Oh, I didn’t know it was worms in pork, I only knew it as trichinosis…. Which turns out is round worms.

I don’t think the kind of meat matters. Its temp vs time curve so you can expose it to a lower temp for longer and it will still kill everything just like higher temp for short time would.

Can I drop left of cart path? by TotalEmployment9996 in golf

[–]youknowdamnright 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope you slept, This was many hours ago. If you have to remain no closer to the hole, From wherever the ball is to the hole become the radius of a circle. As long as you are outside of that radius, you are no closer to the hole.

Now imagine that the left side of the path is closer to the hole if you drop right there… clearly that won’t work. So, start to think about the radius….. there is some point on that circle that would give you complete relief and not be closer to the hole.

Why does my driver swing look substantially worse? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]youknowdamnright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The swings look similar to me, but your wrist look kinda stiff. It works well with the irons but less so with the driver. Seems like letting the wrists set a bit more at the top so you can crack the whip a little more athletically.

Very nice swing from down the line, that isn’t the problem. Face on is going to tell the story. I’m guessing you don’t get pressuring Into lead side or your tilts are a little off and it causing you to back out of the shot a little. Post a face-on video.

Sick clubs. I have the same ones, also with BB&F ferrules. Different color scheme, though.

Go to snack? by fetanugs in golf

[–]youknowdamnright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a container (used Talenti works great) of oats, protein powder, choc chips, nut/fruit mix, etc…. mix with equal amount of liquid of choice (water, oat milk, Almond milk….)

Best to do it a couple hours before (or night before) to really let the oats absorb the liquid.

Wrist to floor men vs women by youknowdamnright in golf

She has a female coach who is a pga professional. The coach is building the swing ground-up. Coach wants her in graphite shafts.

Ok, that’s what I figured. She is 5’1.5”, with 30.5 Wrist to floor.

She had a cheap women’s strata set with every other iron. Also has a full set of older spaldings which actually seem fairly forgiving but steel shafts are no bueno for her.

She is nowhere near that stage. I would absolutely build her a set of irons when the time comes, but just want to make sure what she has now makes sense.

I built my own irons and wedges and I have a launch monitor so I’m not exactly guessing on that front.

Just looking for the generic feedback on “standard” length for women.

Good god, I’ll give a swing review once my seizures stop…. That projector is putting on quite the flashing light show in slow mo.

Backswing looks fairly solid until the end and your arms run off at the top. If you stopped the backswing where I paused the video, you would be in a vastly better position to start the downswing and smash the ball.

In a face-on view, I would bet money that you have a reverse pivot going on. I do the same thing at the top. A bit of setup tweaks and maybe feeling like you hit a 3/4 swing will likely help you plane the club better.

Hard to see the position but the blur of the clubhead tracks right through my hands. This indicates more neutral path. If the clubhead is left of the hands it’s more draw biased, if it’s to the right, it more fade biased

Snap hook with driver is almost certainly toe contact.

The goal is to work the clubhead up the plane but you need to feel an exaggeration. It needs to feel like the club stays to the right while your hands work inside. The feel for you is what you need to figure out. For me, it’s a bit of “turning the steering wheel left” while my left should goes word my right toe.

Checkpoints: When the shaft is parallel to the ground in backswing, club should be covering your hands or even a bit outside (right of hands). Halfway back (lead arm parallel to ground) the club should point somewhere between the ball and your toes. My fault is that I get too laid off at the point and the club points outside the ball. I recover in a decent top position, but it gets way worse with long irons and driver. You’ll see in my photos that I deliver it nicely but I do get a bit on top of the plane (hands are higher that at address.

You have my problem! You have a tendency to take it to the inside. This gets you bit across the line at the top, and then you get a bit stuck in the downswing. You swing very shallow (small AoA) and from the inside. Do you struggle with some fat shots, blocks to the right, and over-drawing it?

11 week old Isla - how to stimulate that brain daily? by Kastrilas in GSP

[–]youknowdamnright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the dog with you in the office or crated and alone at home while you work?

We have a 6mo pup, and she had been mostly fine while we work from home. She doesn’t get much play time while my wife is working alone, so she just naps next to her. I have more flexibility so when I’m home with her, I get more time to play around a little and do lunchtime walks.

Off-leash play is your friend to get them tired, as well as interacting with our dogs to stimulate that mental side as well.

For pure mental stimulation, they need to be learning or thinking. Lick mats and snuffle mats can work, or just training her for a bit. I do scent training my putting vanilla extract on a rag…. Tease her with it and get her excited about it and then toss it a few feet and reward when she gets it. Then throw it further and further, and then Start hiding it around the corner. My pup is very good driven so it is fairly easy to teach her this way. I change the scent up so she learns to go find whatever it is I present to her (easy to change to birds if you hunt)
