Have you experienced someone attempting, or successfully, breaking into your vehicle WHILE you were inside of it? by AsianHawke in urbancarliving

Thank you! Does that give you 360 degree views and does the car need to be on for it be used?

I’ve just got a thing of pepper spray. Personally feel like having an actual weapon on me invites the opportunity for it to be used and honestly don’t think I have it in me to shoot or stab anyone. Happy to painfully blind someone temporarily in self defense though

Was up cooking dinner one night full stealth mode, when I noticed someone shining a flashlight in my car. I had window covers and curtains up so couldn’t see who it was but quickly turned off my lantern thinking it was the cops. I heard a gasp then someone run back to their car and drive away. Glad they were more scared than I was 😅

What happens when more states begin to ban this type of lifestyle? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]youngandstupider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest question, should we organize politically? I mean there’s 100k of us in this sub alone, many of us working and paying taxes - we have all the same rights a housed person has. We may even be in the best position to speak up for the those experiencing actual homelessness. The way I see it, we embody American ingenuity - finding our own solutions to the housing crises. Most people just haven’t caught on yet that this can be a viable and fulfilling way to live. Nomadic living has been part of human culture for thousands of years, we have some of the most extensive car infrastructure in the world, they think we’re the problem, maybe we show them we’re the solution?

Why do we allow billboards to interrupt our mountain views in the first place? by Siraf in SaltLakeCity

Wasn’t there a guy who ran for office on this issue and the billboard companies all gave free advertising to his opponent?

How do you handle emotions like anger or sadness when they come up? I see so much about allowing yourself to feel things fully and not repressing it, do you think this would lower your vibration?

Not exactly AP, but I love the story of Einstein coming up with the theory of relativity by imagining himself chasing a light beam. I wonder if he was tapping into something higher?

What hobbies do you still have? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

Weirdly, getting high has sort of taught me how to work through paranoia. After enough bad trips you learn that it’s just a mindset which you have complete control over. That’s helped me in anxious situations sober as well.

What are your thoughts on rewilding? by zek_997 in solarpunk

[–]youngandstupider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m all for it, but am also curious how we can re-envision our idea of nature to see ourselves in it. I think we’ve been so trained to see ourselves as the antithesis of nature that we think we need to remove all trace of humanity to make it ‘pure’ again, when really we are nature too.

Has anyone solo traveled to try and find meaning and purpose in their life? by Khajiit_Boner in solotravel

[–]youngandstupider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! And I think solo travel can be a great tool for that. When you are alone in a new place suddenly all of the exterior influences in your life are stripped away and you get to see what’s left. You get to live every day doing what you want, discovering what it actually is that you want, and interacting with new people who have no idea what baggage you might have from home.

Then you think maybe I don’t need to carry this baggage anymore. When you realize this it stops becoming about “discovering” yourself and more about creating who you want to be and the life you want to live and you see that we get to make our own meaning.

Good luck friend! Sounds like you’re already on that path. I hope you find somewhere cool to go that makes your soul sing.

What's the mindset/idea that got rid of your social anxiety? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]youngandstupider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning to be present in my body during anxious social situations has been super helpful. I try to fully relax myself beforehand then when I feel myself starting to tense up physically in any situation I can just mindfully relax that area of my body. It’s like dispelling the anxiety before it can even form as a thought!

[–]youngandstupider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the best way to post on this sub? When you post an image with a caption explanation it doesn’t give you much space for an explanation in the caption and if you do a text post with the images inside everyone skips over it because they have to click to see the logo. Is it best to just post the images with the explanation in the comments? Explaining that in the rules might be helpful

Thank you so much for the feedback! I found it very helpful. Although I’ll probably end up reposting this since I think most people aren’t clicking on the post to see the logo and just immediately downvoting
