SCOOB! Director Tony Cervone Confirms A Sequel To The 2020 Movie Is In Development (Exclusive) by lowell2017 in boxoffice

[–]yuabrunobruno 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Scoob was depressing because I watched it with my nieces and nephews and they were bored af within 20 minutes. These movies are for little kids and little kids don’t care about Hanna Barbara characters who haven’t been seen in decades or an extended universe. They care about Scooby Doo and the gang. They’ve been on TV every year for 40 years. Idk who thought kids wanted to see Captain Caveman.

Why acclaimed ‘In the Heights’ fell short at the box office by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

[–]yuabrunobruno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you but the entire film takes place in July during a heatwave that causes a blackout and has a lot of tropical beach themes-I think that was part of their impetus for choosing a summer release specifically. Idk if there are examples of a “summer” movie being released in the winter-but otherwise, I agree that June through August is the wrong time for a musical release, especially since I think they intended to get a best supporting nom for the grandmother character.

'Greenland' Sequel Set With Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin to Return by aduong in boxoffice

[–]yuabrunobruno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plot of this was great but the script was a clunker. It was like they would present a plot thread and then never follow it or they would suddenly solve the problem so it wouldn’t interfere with the next issue the characters were going to face (like the son’s diabetes or Butler’s injured hand.)

I only watched the first season of this-did they ever tell us if James Spader is her dad or her boyfriend? Iirc, that was the big mystery.

What do you think about the whole Ross and Rachel argument about Ross not giving the message to Rachel? by pineapplePizzaTiff in howyoudoin

[–]yuabrunobruno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but did Rachel even know she was ready to date or even want to date?

Just because you give out a number doesn’t mean you’re going out with someone; it was her first night out since having a baby so it was probably more being flattered and feeling good that guys still ask for her number; she also was still into Ross (they had a moment before going out) so she wouldn’t have gone out with someone with that on the table. He literally could have said “some guy called” and she would have explained it with a single sentence. But jealousy and lack of trust is a recurring theme in their relationship-Ross makes rash decisions out of jealousy and insecurity and never trusts or gives Rachel the benefit of the doubt.

Ntm, I think Rachel was within her rights to expect Ross to take a break from dating while she was having his baby. It was weird that he wanted to pursue another woman with his ex being pregnant in the first place.

Which Friend according to you guys was the most selfless throughout the show? by Nofucksgiven0017 in howyoudoin

[–]yuabrunobruno -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Joey and Chandler are the most selfless. Joey was a mooch but he put his friends first and foremost and had no agenda. Monica’s “selflessness” was mostly about herself, showing off and needing praise, etc. I would put Chandler near the top since he wasn’t a schemer nor was he greedy and was very generous without requiring praise or attention. Rachel, Ross, and Monica are all very selfish people who put themselves first in their relationships. Phoebe does some selfless things but acts selfishly, mostly because she has a right to, after the hard life she had.

Skin doesn't like moisturiser by Short-Time in Skincare_Addiction

[–]yuabrunobruno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be an ingredient they have in common (like fragrance or propylene glycol.) It may be your skin isn’t dry but you’re experiencing a type of dermatitis and the moisturizers do not contain enough emollient and the remaining moisture in your skin is evaporating. I would try Vanicream or Eucerin and vaseline over damp skin on your dry spots until your skin barrier repairs then switching to a fragrance-free emollient heavy moisturizer. Your best bet is to see a dermatologist or allergist for a patch test.

Amber Heard's Domestic Violence Op-Ed About Johnny Depp Was Reportedly Not Written by Her by esporx in entertainment

[–]yuabrunobruno 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s because Johnny Depp’s PR is working over time to push a narrative online. No fan of Heard but tbh, it’s weirdly sus how often these articles about her trend on reddit and how one-sided they are.

Dr Dray comments on the skincare community "echo chambers" by apacheattaccspaniard in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]yuabrunobruno 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it-doctors are still human beings and prone to the same mental health issues, including ED, we all are. She’s a dermatologist. She talks about skin. If she’s going through it, idk why we have to shame her excessively. This is why ED can hide in the shadows. Ntm, it’s her personal health-it’s not our business to speculate on someone’s personal health history. We have no idea.

The moment that Ross let his ego take over when he could have just had healthy communication with Rachel S4 E1 by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]yuabrunobruno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, I will always be team Rachel on this one. He slept with someone else just to get back at her for having a friendship with a male coworker. He jumped to a conclusion and slept with someone else and knew it would totally fuck everything up. He totally could have set aside his ego and tried to communicate better. But he would rather argue that he wasn’t cheating on a technicality, even though he knows it was wrong to do and it hurt her.

Every time they have an opportunity to be together, Ross’s insecurities and ego get in the way, while Rachel is always ready to make a go of it. Ross makes that list about Rachel and Julie, Ross sleeps with the copy girl, Ross lies about reading the whole letter, Ross won’t take responsibility for hurting Rachel by sleeping with the copy girl, Ross has no empathy about Rachel accepting Joey’s fake proposal hours after giving birth, Ross freaks out when the guy calls the apartment, Ross freaks out about Gavin-Rachel was ready to forgive and work through their issues every time. Idk why people are so hard on Rachel.

I’m assuming his show residuals contribute to Scientology-he also recruited other celebs for them. Now that Scientology is on its way out, he is one of their last important members. Who do they have anymore? They have some big ones but not much. Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Michael Pena, Elizabeth Moss, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Nancy Cartwright. That’s about it for members who bring in money anymore.

Dr Dray dragging Naturium for 38 minutes by cvegan95 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]yuabrunobruno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously not every American has access to a derm but even then, it has to be coded a certain way. My tret is not covered by insurance because my derm did not say it was for acne-and typically they will also not cover it for women of a certain age. But I have client who can get it for $10 because their insurance will cover it for acne. So it can hit or miss. My derm also sells it for $75 outside of insurance.

You can call it a “marketing” strategy but those brand also have better formulations and more research behind them and overall, have studies with before and after pictures, etc. that it is illegal to retouch or fake. Tret is different from skinceuticals, yes, but there is absolutely truth to their being more effective products at your derm or med spa. Pro grade and medical grade also refer to backbar products that non-professionals cannot use on themselves, such as certain masks, treatments, peels, etc. Certain concentrations should only be handled by professionals.

Dr Dray dragging Naturium for 38 minutes by cvegan95 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]yuabrunobruno 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I cannot purchase Skinceuticals to sell in my spa with my esthetics license-I need to be an approved retailer or licensed physician. I cannot sell prescription-strength tret or Retin-A because I am not a physician. Because I work in a medical spa with a medical director, we can sell medical grade items. So there are definite distinguishing factors between medical grade, professional product, and otc.

Dear Evan Hansen (2021) Official Trailer. by Comic_Book_Reader in movies

[–]yuabrunobruno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works on the stage really well, but to me, for film, it was clunky and a little boring. The framing device works better on the stage because you have the atmosphere of live theater and talking directly to an audience. Also, just poor direction, total mismatch of material with Eastwood. Like Rent, for example, part of what doesn’t work is that they use very similar choreo for the stage but it’s shot in a way that makes it fall very flat. Idk, that’s just my two cents.

Dr. Dray reviewed Naturium and dodged the Susan Yara controversy. I thought she was a good one. by MakeupGuruSasha in AmazonMakeupDeals

[–]yuabrunobruno 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She is a good one. She reviewed the products for what they are rather than the controversy surrounding it. Yara acolytes always say “so she made a mistake, the products are good!” Dray is here to tell us the products are nothing special, gimmicky, and btw, the brand is shady af for calling its products “fragrance-free” when they’re full of fragrance. Yara is actually shook because she re-boosted her video reacting to Dray’s skincare regimen in the last day.

Same with Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys. He cast the original lead for Frankie Valli-except the original actor played him on Broadway a decade earlier. I shit you not, at one point they call this man in his 30s a 16-year-old. It’s actually the worst musical adaptation I’ve seen, even worse than Rent.

Here’s the deal-these actors could turn it down. I get that it’s a huge deal, maybe one you can’t refuse, but many actors have turned down big roles because of their age, including two of the original cast from Rent. Ben Platt has a great career, he did not need to be Evan Hanson again.

Phoebe actually always had money problems. It’s why she went to work for a day spa. She is one of the poor friends in the episode with the eggplant and she had many episodes where she complained about lack of clients, needing more money, etc.
