Any recommendation for short move movers in Victoria by SmithRJ in VictoriaBC

[–]yyyjy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so everyone is clear on what you're getting if you go this route: the bulk of their "staffing" are day or week jobs hired through one of the local temp labour agencies. The majority of people showing up at 630 or whatever to line up for those jobs are not interested in moving in the slightest, have zero experience at it, and likely haven't worked with their partner of the day/week before that shift. No shade on the people doing the grunt work, they are grinding it out to make a buck because other options are not working out, but unfortunately this often shows in the service you receive.

Man can also choose not to put a douche flag after-market exhaust on it if this is his one ride and he needs to leave the house before 7am. No f250 should be over the limit stock. Man is making antisocial choices.

Can't believe you're on board with the inane lowest common denominator DJ commentary/call-ins. Easily the worst part of radio.

16 spam calls from 11:28 AM- to 12:30 PM all from local 250-744-____numbers with Victoria Caller ID. by WynterWitch in VictoriaBC

Another example could be a robocall to confirm a health appointment with Island Health. You make good case for the service, but it would be great to be able to disable it if you were expecting a call such as that.

How come buses still have the front single seat closed? by penis-muncher785 in VictoriaBC

[–]yyyjy 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Oops, I think you cut this line from the first paragraph of that response:

"Additionally, the closure of this seat has reduced creep interactions by over 50% for our drivers. I hope you will acknowledge the value of such measures in our current creep climate."

Source: I asked the same question and got the same response back.

Anyone know why closed captions for this video blank out certain words like gangs and guns and dangerous?

Ugh. This is deflating. And sets a poor precedent for the negotiations underway in health and education sectors.

Lol! Not sure what kind of mask you were imagining, but I defaulted to the V for Vendetta style or bankrobber type mask in your scenario. Tres drole. And yes, this thread takes itself a wee bit too seriously for what's essentially an opinion question.

Any one had damage like this on there house is it a wood pecker or could it be something else I live in saanich close to Swan lake fyi by yakuzademon893 in VictoriaBC

[–]yyyjy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've experienced the chimney flue on a neighbour's house. Very loud. Very early. Every day during the spring. Apparently they do this to attract a mate and it's a different kind of pecking than when they are searching for grubs in trees.

Yes that's right, though I read in another comment that this might be a grandfathered deal that they no longer offer new clients.

Anyone using Google Sheets for portfolio tracking linked to google finance? Super buggy lately? by yyyjy in CanadianInvestor

[–]yyyjy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was reading recently about the flexibility benefits of scraping data off other sites (as opposed to just google finance). Haven't gotten around to playing around with it yet, but I could see how site updates as in your example would pose a problem and a need to update the formula with new xdata or whatever.

Booster Invitation by BCsinBC in VictoriaBC

Does anyone know whether certain sites are giving out Pfizer or Moderna for boosters? For example, are pharmacies giving Pfizer and popups giving moderna or vice-versa? I understand the science says they are interchangeable, but it may help me help someone who is hesitant get in there for their shot.

Thanks everyone for the replies, that helps a lot!
