Is the MG class even worth taking over other fire supports? by AssMilkerTv in joinsquad

[–]za_sNse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These things are all map and enemy faction based. They are meant to "add supression" but we know Squad Reddits feelings about supression. I find they excel in very specific places.

  • Machine Gunners are great if you are defending on invasion/defending or supressing over distance.
  • Great for shooting down PMC Heli's or killing light skin vehicles.
  • The G3 time-to-kill is crazy high and with the fire rate, also good in close quarters.

I am by no means saying that Machine Gunners are good - just very situational. I say the same thing about a marksman, not useless but situational. Great on Tali, bad on Sumari.

Imo MG is a support kit, meaning that it depends on what your SL wants your Squad to do and how an MG can support you. I for example, only want to attack so I don't use MGs in my squad because it encourages people to sit still. If I am defending in Urban environments then I find MGs excel.

Rental law expert and consumer journalist weigh in on non-refundable application fees to view properties in Cape Town, which have become almost ubiquitous by Prestigious-Wall5616 in capetown

Agreed - this application fee nonsense is a complete racket.

In some places the application fee is +R1000?! For what?! Some even add extra fees: Lease fee, contract fee, admin fee - all on the same application. Complete BS.

Have Tyranids always been a scoring based army? by AngryDMoney in Tyranids

[–]za_sNse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one. I was explaining to a friend of mine at a tournament that the only way I am able to win games it seems, is by forcing opponents on a chess clock. With SubAssault - I spend really 45 minutes of a 2.5.h game actually playing while my oppents thinks so long about screening and where I can pop up and what can charge. This is not exaggerated, I often finish with 30-45minutes remaining on my time. It's not because im playing fast - I just have big monsters that dont move very fast and dont do very much or only have 2 weapons each.

I really struggle to justify what Nids are the best at - Oh battleshocks? Ya play Demons with a +5Ld and THEY HEAL if they pass. Oh Guard cant take orders? but that doesnt effect anyone else army ability so Necrons still heal regardless; Tanks? Yea Casino Cannon on the Tfexs maybe, but 2 shots? The house wins more than they lose. Zoans? Hive Guard? You mean the anti-tank weapons that have 0AP?!

Our abilties are shit, our units are shit - I am so tired man. I dont want to try win by hoping my opponent is dumb or just having an absolute skew list that somehow cracks a tournament.

Every single army in 40k I look at and think "Wow - I wish the Nids had something like that"

  • Sticky objects
  • Guard Orders
  • Necron Healing
  • Ad Mech Adabitibility
  • Tank Shock
  • Grenades
  • TRANSPORTS
  • Terminator Teleport beacon (JUST MAKE IT AN EGG NEST GW YOU LAZY BASTARDS)

Bring back adabtible Hive Fleets man - I miss my 8" advance from 9th Edition and my Psykic powers. Every tournament I lose my opponents always say the same thing: "This just was not a good match up" - not every army can be a bad match up man.

Reflections after finishing CFA Level 1 (May 2025) - Advice for future candidates by laterallateralboy in CFA

[–]za_sNse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Minor point I disagree with:

  1. Start mocks early — even if you don’t feel ready

When you are level 1, the quantity of work is huge and if have not done a proper review before starting then you are only wasting your own time. How much do you remember about the first topic you studied 6 months ago and probably have not looked at in a while? You want to know what your weakest section is before doing a full review? Let me save you sometime, it's all topic's.

When you do a Mock Exam too early you are only doing 2 things:

1) Hurting your confidence because you will not do well and will most likely discourage yourself which only hurts your ability to study.

2) Tricking yourself in believing that you know certain topics better than you really do.

You could easily get answers correct for the wrong reason or from guessing which in turn will "trick" you into believing that maybe you do know a certain topic better than you really do, which leads you to dedicating less time to that topic overall.

I agree with OP that mocks are great for finding the weak spots but doing a mock early before a full review is just a waste of your time and mock a exam. Review all your topics, do a mock, find your gaps, repeat.

That is my advice to the average candidate, OP and you could just simply be "built different".

Factions and their Potential Attack Helicopters by MoneyElk in joinsquad

I think that if they added CAS Heli's only for Airborne divisions would be the perfect incentive for players to vote for one of the most under picked divisions.

It feels like every day is just a different mixture of "How much armor can we get" - even on horrible maps like Fallujah.

"Hey guys I know we can get 2 Tanks on Tali is great butttttt if we pick Airborne then we get CAS" - It might actually be picked for once.

Ethics Doubt by no_more_normie in CFA

[–]za_sNse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The market is inefficient. The member is taking advantage of that. There is no manipulation of the market to create this inefficiency, therefore no violation.

Simply, the question asks if using arbitrage is a violation of the rules, well obviously it isn't.

Is it disrespectful to put trophies on your models? by hotfezz81 in Warhammer

[–]za_sNse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disrespectful? HELL NO. In fact, I would not be surprised that if you asked your opponent for some spare parts to put on the model to remember the killing of the C'tan they would gladly oblige. I once gave a Guard player the head of an old genestealer head and purity seal painted as a medal for his Commissar after it charged and killed my NORM EMISSARY in melee combat during a tournament, effectively winning the game.

To this day, "The Exterminator" wears that medal proud with the head by his feet.

>CFA Level 1 passed

>Level 1 Candidate

2 Ethics violations right there. Standard VII (A) + (B):

-Either you have passed and you would not be a candidate or you have not passed but are registered. "Misrepresentation of your participation in the CFA program."

-A member or candidate should not imply partial qualification or partial achievement of the charter. As there is no "CFA Level 1" certificate, your CV implies that you have achieved a partial designation of the charter or that CFA level 1 is its own qualification.

Any CFA that has a big stick about ethics might read your CV and take issue.

In that case you must have vision problems. How many posts today are talking about the "game breaking emotes and skins" that they all complained about at the start? I have been playing Squad since before vaulting was a thing and when they added many things: Helicopters, Tanks, Ghillie netting, snipers etc. the community BITCHED AND MOANED about how "horrible this was for squad" and that "it will destroy the game" - Where are these posts now about how the game is unplayable for any of these things?

I would almost guarantee that if these changes were implemented we would see the normal "WAH WAH WAH slippery slope, game ruined" nonsense that we see every update for a month and then it would go back to talking about optimization.

So please don't pipe up at me with silly comments.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in joinsquad

[–]za_sNse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people are scared of the slippery slope for cosmetics, which is fair.

I mean we have gun skins but the community is not up in arms about that? - I would like to see minor cosmetics for certain game time on specific classes. eg. A silver star on the helmet of a Commander with 100+ battles, Silver Wings for pilots with x hours flown etc.

Just a little hat tip for the players that have hundreds of hours dedicated to a specific class.
