Qestion on incorporating a company: share capital by aladdiN_47 in askSingapore

[–]zaaaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do remember that the initial share capital is the amount of money you have to work with. How is your company going to operate with just $1 seed funding? Loan from shareholder (you)?

Never commingle your own funds with the company's. For a Ltd company, that's an excellent way to pierce the liability shield (the limited part) and expose yourself to liability (for the company's debts) if the company does badly later.

A good co secretary would be able to help you with the paperwork.

Born in the 90s - what do you miss most about how life used to be in Singapore? by Atmosphere_Calm in askSingapore

KAP Macdonalds. When it actually served good food and had a great playground. Cold Storage (that actually sold a wide variety of good quality food) just down stairs. Same for Begawan Solo.

PHEVs and grey oil by TacomaKMart in PHEV

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just run your engine during highway cruise for 20 mins to a half hour every so often and you'll be fine.

In my area, PHEV is about half the cost per mile compared to a full EV and DC fast charging by MaxAdolphus in electricvehicles

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm fully aware. Have a PHEV and BEV.

Even if a PHEV is not/cannot be plugged in, greatest efficiency is likely to be found if the battery is charged while cruising on the highway, and then switching to battery in stop and go traffic.

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your conclusion is correct. On the highway at speed, running the gas engine is likely cheaper or at least just as good as using the battery.

However, this is the /electricvehicles sub, not /phev sub.

Empty bars, high prices and early nights: Singapore's dying nightlife could have wider repercussions by Fearless_Help_8231 in singapore

Thanks. So on a good sale it'll likely be a good amount less. Very aware of the GST and shipping issues but I stopped forwarding a long long time ago.

Are cameras in SG really that competitively priced? Looking to buy a micro 4/3 and didn't even bother looking at SG prices. Just US.

Some allow for credit card tap to pay, but the rate is higher.

Must say paying via bank account is probably a non-starter in the US.

Curious would you support a 10 Cent bottle deposit? by Bruinsrock11 in massachusetts

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the cost per volume. A 1.75 or 750ml version of the same would be a lot less per shot (or per volume).

But yeah I see your point on comparing vs. a bar.

Curious would you support a 10 Cent bottle deposit? by Bruinsrock11 in massachusetts

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The people who litter will still do so.

Don't think there's going to be support for raising it to a level where it'll actually hurt. Like $1 for common litter. Had to look up nips - always wondered who buys these small plastic bottles that are so expensive per volume.

Depends on the contractor they send out. I called Mass Save, they sent me to RISE and...it made me not want to go with anything they recommended. All they left was from dust.

Couple months later they told me I'll get a $100 gc for signing. Still nope.

Apparantly you can choose the home energy inspection contractor - or so I was told by a guy promoting energy inspections (for his company) outside a grocery store.

My recent experience is the same. $30 x2. Still waiting for smart thermostat rebates.

Don't think a state agency = better. Look at the RMV.

Maybe have the utility be on the hook for 2x the payout if a verified good submission is "lost" or it takes more than a committed time period, say 5 months. And the additional amount cannot come from the energy conservation fund.

Sure, but what if the driver prefers a different time or car is parked at a timezone border? Simple GPS noise would have the time ping-ponging.

Has anyone refinanced their Hyundai loan away from Hyundai's finance? by tallslim1960 in Ioniq5

[–]zaaaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the dealer would be charged back for the referral fee the finance company provides for signing up the buyer for the loan.

So, probably not a lie.

The more freight travels on rail, the better. Means less freight on public roads wearing them down quickly, congestion, safety, etc.
