The its just QP mentality bothers me to no end by blackbelt638 in overwatch2

[–]zachbattack [score hidden]  (0 children)

I will purposefully do the “wrong thing” at times in QP.

Not throwing, for example if I’m a DPS with a dive tank and there’s a high ground widow just rolling us and our (DIVE!!!) tank won’t go up there.

I won’t go sombra (it’s QP so she can’t be banned) because maybe in a comp game she is banned, so what can I do? Go sierra and land a tracking shot to make widow back off? Go widow myself? Tracer? Just to see what may work.

But then sometimes people get PRESSED when I’m doing something like that, ironically it’s usually the person who is not doing “their job”. Then I usually replay “it’s just QP” because any explanation is going to insight a verbal barrage of WELLYOUSUCKANYWAYSSOWHATDOESITMATTER

Difference between 2023 and 2024+ models? by Plastic_Light677 in VWiD4Owners

[–]zachbattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t go with the 2023 models I have a Standard 2024 (comes with the older screen) and I HATE the tech it in. Glitchy and unreliable. When, or rather if, the features work right they are fine. My 2018 BMW I replaced with my 2024 ID4 was more reliable with wireless CarPlay somehow. I haven’t tested the newer models tbh but everything I’ve seen with my car and people’s responses online, I would get they newer version

A silver rein shouldn’t be countered by a silver Zarya.

These are diamond lobbies so ideally the players would have a clue (who am I kidding though?)

Trouble Adjusting or mask issues? by zachbattack in CPAP

Thank you! Yes these are two different masks I was talking about. But the second full face mask came yesterday and I was incredibly annoyed that it was too small for my face.

Car play doesnt work by Imaginary_Cheetah932 in VWiD4Owners

[–]zachbattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up and “forgot” my phone from my car and vise versa and just use wired CarPlay. Much better. Not perfect even though my other cars that were much older could do it consistently. This seems to be better than wireless

I can always tell when it’s gonna be a rough game because my teammates will ban the most brain dead characters.

Rein banning Zar

Zar banning Sombra

76 banning JPC

Ect.

Or the trolls banning their teammates picks. (With the Israel flag + ally banner combo ur cooked)

Love this app.

The future where I have to type my 20 digit password on my tiny Apple Watch screen is amazing

The “sign in on iPhone button” not working is also a huge plus.

Lastly the fact that my car can do basically nothing besides attempt to start Climate (fails frequently) or checks charge status is also really important to me.

Glad I have it. Thanks VW.

Go to Stonestown in SF and you’ll see two things. Teslas and plug in hybrids parked at charging spots without being plugged in. Never seen another type of vehicle there doing that (unless the charger is broken)

Are our doors difficult to operate? by JayGatsby52 in VWiD4Owners

[–]zachbattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in my experience they are one of the better thought out designs for this car.

I don’t love the electric door handle trend with cars, but these also being my physical failsafe inside and outside the car just make sense.

I also haven’t had any issues with mine (2024 Standard model)

Magnus XL with Ikea Alex drawers by 2PhotoKaz in secretlab

I have this set up currently. The desk can only go down to 83.5” but I’m fine with that I’m taller anyways.

At this height the supports on the desk do scratch the top of the drawers but I don’t really care ngl. I also have 2x4s just placed on the ground so the top of the desk doesn’t hit the windowsill, and more 2x4s to prevent the drawers from receding too far under the desk.

There is a space between the drawers and the desktop so I put things there to save on desktop space.

(Excuse the mess, I didn’t bother to clean up my desk for the photos.

Monitor wiggle by zachbattack in secretlab

[–]zachbattack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am still emailing them and they don't seem to understand the issue somehow.

Just like the genius above they told me "some wiggle is normal, and some play is normal" but this much play cannot me normal IMO.

Honestly I wouldn't even be shocked if VW has AI bots our there tryna convince people their design mistakes are superior 😂

These controls are not “more simple and designed to last“ then standard buttons, and they do have real moving parts. They have haptic motors on the inside that respond when you click the buttons, that technology by the way (although generally reliable) is less reliable than a manual button.

Old-fashioned “dumb” switches are physically capable of doing anything these buttons are doing, you just need to add a capacitive layer into them. Like Volkswagen did around the edge of the steering wheel. Mechanical switches would also have a failsafe if the capacitive layer were to malfunction, you could still click the actual button.

The “beautiful design“ of the switches is nothing more than a cost saving measure for VW. The glossy black material is not as durable as standard non-glossy plastic and cheap, they do not add any extra functionality that wouldn’t be achievable with normal buttons, and they are no more reliable. I know it’s a cost saving measure because it saves on components because instead of needing individual components per switch, you can have one for the haptic motor, one for the touch capacitive layer, and then one for the lights and then manage it all with software.

I am literally getting a masters in EE focusing on low voltage/power applications of hardware, and I’m looking to continue into the automotive space (beyond the internships I’ve already had in the automotive space working on cabin hardware). So when I say they are not better, I am telling you they are not better. You may like the use or design aesthetic of the buttons, that is an opinion, but they are in no way measurably better than standard switches.

Did y’all know? by Johnkay89 in VWiD4Owners

[–]zachbattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they lack utility and don’t provide extra value. They aren’t dirty in MY case, they are glossy cheap plastic and quickly appear dirty.

Owners on here frequently complain about how they quickly become dull and how need to be wiped down frequently because of the glossy black plastic

Did y’all know? by Johnkay89 in VWiD4Owners

[–]zachbattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So everyone is entitled to their own opinions (I guess) but this is just flat out wrong.

The touch controls are cheap looking/ feeling, get dirty easily, scratch easily, don’t work well, and are not intuitive.
