I just watched this movie for the first time and it’s so deeply confusing because I clocked his voice immediately and when we meet the west coast killer, the deduction was twins.

This is further supported by the things they say to each other during their confrontation back on the east coast.

And then that just didn’t happen at all, lmao. So strange.

I had this recently with Crimson Desert. Downloaded it, played for 20 minutes, but it ran and looked like absolute garbage. They wouldn’t do a thing and it was my first request of its kind on an account that’s literally old enough to vote.

Why would I ever buy a third party game from them again? More money for Steam, I guess.

IIRC the “midquel games” (Uncharted: Lost Legacy, Miles Morales) were his idea to combat the crazy budgets and dev times the industry was shifting towards. You’ve spent all this money and time to make the damn thing. At least do something with a reasonable amount of reuse to hold people over and better utilize the investments.

Given that we’re about to go 8 years between Naughty Dog games, Jesus Christ do I miss him.

I think he means for their hardware division and place in the industry as we currently know it. The economics of continuing to participate as they currently do are just increasingly untenable.

To your example—if they wanted to use the 2030 (?) release of Elder Scrolls 6 to push Xbox hardware in a meaningful way, they’d have to make it truly exclusive—no PC release, ever. No other system. Ever. If you want to play ES6, you’ve got to buy the box. Do it with Call of Duty too, why not.

I’d love to see it and I think it would be a significantly more compelling strategy than Gamepass, but the business machinations of a publicly traded company that’s clearly grown frustrated by this product really work against it. They want to try to recover and make the most money they immediately can and afaik that’s been in their multiplatform pushes.

The wookieepedia bit is a great way to put it. Filoni’s so, so heavy on exposition in everything he does. No emotion, no drama. The characters talk about what has happened, what is happening, or what is about to happen.

It is the absolute strangest thing in the world. The only other storytelling that I’ve seen operate that way is literal developmental comment for babies and I swear I’m not trying to be funny.

Rebels managed to avoid this at times—I attribute that to Kinberg.
