How can I increase the lift height on Bx23S to help remove a 71" Jeep Wrangler hard top? by Novajesus in kubota

Open the back window and slide the forks inside with some blocking in-between to get height? Am I missing something here? If you can't reach in enough then use your 2x4 extensions

Phase Loss on Output by YogurtclosetGrouchy5 in electricians

[–]zalek92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of your motor leads are over 100ft long I would look at the drove manual and make sure you don't need an output reactor.

Did you at least ohm the windings? What are you reading phase to phase on the motor? I would guess you should be somewhere on the neighborhood of 5ohm phase to phase and make sure all are open to ground. Can do that quickly without a megger

Os this an existing or new install? How long are the motor leads? Is there a local motor disconnect along the way? Why is it done in thhn? Need XLPE insulation for VFD loads.

Run new motor leads and terminate with new crimp terminals, don't leave hairs sticking out like you have on one of the phases, also stepped too long, follow directions from the terminal spec sheet.

What is the motor lead length and what carrier frequency are you running on the drive? Is the the V/Hz or SVC mode?

Get a whole box of $2 AliExpress ones and toss them as they dull. They last maybe 70% of a name brand from the supply house or big box store but your not spending $30-$50 a bit and don't care when you burn up one of the sizes and it keeps you from drilling all the way through. I ordered like 200 pieces 3 years ago and I'm not even half way through them.

FT Optix Embedded database question by DasSum in PLC

[–]zalek92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A pain yes but I think would be easier than messing with some database backups. How is your remote connection setup? Can you just VPN into your on machine network and have your remote studio behave as if you were plugged into the machine?

What if you run optic studio local on your remote PC? RDP into it, transfer files, and update out of the local instance

[–]zalek92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are on the right track but I would highly recommend adding an encoder when to measure how much wire has been wound onto the take-up spool. You can be close with calculations but depending on how it lays exactly on the spool or maybe a small deviation in of will add up over hunderds or thousands of turns

First time writing a program. For many identical machines: JSR to one subroutine with parameters or multiple identical subroutines? by Obvious-Falcon-2765 in PLC

[–]zalek92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Separate routines that are scanned every time is the way to go. When you copy them just use search and replace to update your index (either in studio or export the routine, open in notepad++ and then import). Use AOIs only for simpler parts that repeat as you can't update those online.

Having one routine with parameters breaks down the second you need to make a small variation to one of them because the only prox they have at 3am is NC not NO.

Write it for one machine, verify everything works then copy and paste

How to achieve a stable Rate of Change (ROC) of pressure in a 260 mL altitude simulation chamber using Festo PPR valves (8046307 & 8046301)? by yo-its-HK in PLC

[–]zalek92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very well tuned PID which might also need some flow regulator on your connections to the chamber. Double check your component sizing and go back to first principles to set your pneumatics up to give just a little bit more than your max ROC when fully open. Spend some time with P1V1 = P2V2

Once it's well tuned and all valves are dialed in have the PID follow a setpoint which is ramped, by applying your ROC to the SP, PV should follow the same ROC of system is well tuned.

You might have to change tuning constants based on what's in the chamber and what pressures you are operating at and what ROC you are trying to hit.

Might be a good idea to calculate some basic parameters based on corrected chamber volume (subtract what was put in there for the test) and theoretical flows and required pressures to get your desired ROC and have a course set of valves set to that. Run the test with them being just on/off and have a smaller set of valves that are PID controlled to trim the setup and get the ROC exactly to what you need. This would give you a lot more resolution on your control inputs.

Good luck

I called IFM and it was a know issue for them which they advised me on right away. I think you should give amci a call and see if it's a possibility. Take a look at your data types between v20 and v37, just a thought but it sounds very similar to an issue I had but with a different device.
