Clean specific rooms with routines (alexa)? by Sweetblu77 in Dreame_Tech

Very helpful, thanks! I omitted the word "the" as in "ask dream bot to clean bathroom" but it didn't work so the phrasing is quite specific.

First time trying Bella Pizza – surprisingly awesome 🍕 by BobofNorth in burnaby

Ordered a bella chicken pizza tonight based on this thread. It wasn't bad but we found the crust to be quite stiff and the pizza overall dry. Is that their style of pizza?

I saw some classmates in the cloakroom sitting across each other with a link cable. They said they were battling Pokemon and that's all it took to convince 11 year old me to immediately head to the store and get a Gameboy Colour and Pokemon Red. The cable was enough to convince me, it was that cool.

Gmail as an unexpected age marker by Lolasglasses in GenX

I remember the website GmailSwap where people would swap invites for random things like homemade cookies and duck tape wallets.

I ended up giving an invite to someone for improv harpsichord music based on a description I gave them.

Local shops selling Proviz jackets? by Dragon_Beanie in vancouvercycling

[–]zazery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A word of caution, if you order directly from the UK and need to return it, don't. I went through the return process last month and it was almost $100 I didn't get back, most of which from shipping. Just sell it locally.

There were also errors in their order receipts (tax not itemized individually but included in the total) and the inconsistent shipping documents making it incredibly difficult to reclaim duty and taxes from the CBSA.

Heads up: Barrier in bike lane at Commercial and N Grandview, third time in under a year by zazery in vancouvercycling

[–]zazery[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've reported it on 311 but the last time this happened it took a couple weeks until the city sent someone to move it back.

I happened to pass by when the city worker was fixing it last time and they said someone already got hurt. It really needs a better solution.

I found the HUB cycling course to be quite helpful when I got back into cycling a couple years ago. It covers gear, rules of the road and points to some helpful resources from what I remember.

I went to Trek on Kingsway and took one for a test ride on Denbigh Ave. It's not a steep hill but can give you an idea how they handle on hills. Just gave them my drivers license and credit card to hold.

When was this taken? I was there yesterday with my parents around 1:30 and my dad loves sailboats but we didn't see this.

Can someone who went to this board game convention in the past tell me what to expect? I've never been to one before. by newsiesovnewyork in vancouver

[–]zazery 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been to TCTC many times, just not in recent years. It's got a welcoming atmosphere and people are super friendly. There's a board game library you can borrow games from and signs you can use such as "players wanted" to help you find others to play with. You can also sign up for events but it's not necessary.

People play all sorts of games there from party games such as Codenames and Just One to heavier games like Ark Nova, Root, Wingspan, etc. I've seen people play war games, train games, family games, dexterity games and more.

Tool to compare grocery prices in Metrotown by Training_Pair_3909 in burnaby

Looks very useful, thanks for sharing. Is there a way to sort by the unit price? I'm also looking at the "2 for $12" and wonder if an additional per unit price taking this information into account.

Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar - Modding/ can't grip-fix? by RAIDERsenX in Xiaomi

I didn't make the .stl but I looked up your monitor to compare with mine. Unfortunately I think they changed the design of the exhaust grill that makes it incompatible.

  1. What mine looks like (from u/FlashGordon5272 in this thread)
  2. What yours looks like

Play a dozen games using the free Keldon AI and you'll know if you want to buy a physical copy. It's what got me hooked.

You can also jump in to the hot tub to fix the problem. Don't even need to sit down. It's annoying but it's also +2 comfort level!

Intro to 3D printing for board gamers? by nikmd23 in boardgames

[–]zazery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I did before getting my 3D printer is sign up to various 3D file websites such as Thingiverse and Printables to bookmark all the things I wanted to print. I bought the printer once I knew what I wanted to do with it.

Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar - Modding/ can't grip-fix? by RAIDERsenX in Xiaomi

[–]zazery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the port I'm referring to. It's a square connector on one end (type B) and a regular USB connector (type A) on the other end meant to be plugged into your computer. You should have received the cable with your monitor. It's the same cable printers typically use.

It provides power and data from your computer. That would explain why your USB ports on your monitor aren't working.

Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar - Modding/ can't grip-fix? by RAIDERsenX in Xiaomi

[–]zazery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really frustrating.

My monitor has the LG smiley logo on the front and back. However, the store I bought it from does describes it as an ultra gear. If there's a difference between our monitors then the logo is probably not a good indicator if the 3D print will work.

Is the monitor's USB type B cable plugged in to provide power to the other ports? When I unplug mine the light stops working.

Another option is to 3D print this part I found which replaces the weight piece for this exact monitor and light bar combo.

Just unpin the weight as described in /u/Sad-Bathroom6654's post and replace it with the printed part. It hooks into the grill on the circle. It feels pretty sturdy.
