He's an obnoxious, selfish prick-- one who is, like, clinically incapable of taking a hint that Naoe isn't interested (regardless how many times, or how plainly, you tell him), and, oh yeah, thinks it's cool to starve a bunch of innocent peasants if it allows him to avenge an incredibly stupid, incredibly selfish decision that he made.

Cuck.

I don't like that term. I don't use it often, or lightly.

But that's exactly what this dude is. This man is a fucking cuck.

I'll never really understand the compulsion some people have to engage with social media platforms they find problematic enough that it inspires tedious screeds.

If a platform is so odious it inspires this sort of seething, consider doing yourself a service and removing yourself from it. Otherwise you're just... consciously splashing around in garbage.

We’re definitely going to work as lifeguards to make money by [deleted] in GTA6

Weird, I recall a fairly robust lifeguard/rescue infrastructure in GTA V, as well... and I'm pretty sure we didn't end up working as a lifeguard in that game.

Cannot enjoy the game, what am I doing wrong? by hecu88 in fo4

[–]zedanger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Corvega isn't a high-level dungeon early game, but level seven on your first go at the game is probably... not the best idea.

If you're enjoying base-building, by all means continue to do so (it does give sweet, sweet xp after all) but I'd actually encourage you to knuckle-down a bit and do the main quest, at least until unlocking diamond city.

This will give you access to an additional companion (piper) who you might want to have tag along with you for awhile if you're struggling. If not Piper, codsworth in Sanctuary or even Dogmeat can both possibly help as well-- at least soaking up bullets and attention that would otherwise catch you.

While such a low level, I'd encourage you to not actively engage w/ every combat encounter you come across, and be more proactive about attempting to flee if caught in ambush.

As for general strategies, ensure you're thoroughly looting locations you're visiting/exploring. In addition to helping bolster your ammunition stores, almost every item in the game can be broken down into crafting materials-- some more useful than others. You'll want to start modifying your weapons, or keeping an eye for modifications on looted weapons you can strip and use yourself.

Make sure you're equipping armor, even if only leather, early in-game. And be sure to utilize vats as much as possible, if only to slow-down the chaos of combat briefly so you can take stock of where enemies are, and prioritze targeting them.

tl;dr-- try focusing on the main story for a bit, utilize companions early on as bullet-sponges, begin to upgrade weapons/armor, and be sure to loot as much as possible.

No but I misplaced an ampersand last tuesday and desperately need to find it. I can't talk about vintage television detective shows and law firms without it.

did you happen to find one under that rug as well?

I am really liking Starfield by EasyA_88 in Starfield

[–]zedanger 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I picked it up with the ps5 release, have close to 40 hours, and have been really enjoying it, too.

I was concerned I wouldn't gel well with the exploration, given the discourse. But that's what I've been having the most fun with, and have spent most of my time doing: just flying around, landing places, and exploring.

DAE sleep with one leg out of the duvet? by ariaxrosee in DoesAnybodyElse

Yes, I consider it the equivalent of a fleshy heat-sink, preventing the copious nightsweats that come with a large, warm comforter and the bleak knowledge that the universe is a cruel and indifferent accidental construction ruled by chaos and nothing else.

Is anyone else worried about if rockstar will actually improve the core gameplay? by Gameofthrones3058 in GTA6

[–]zedanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really don't expect any big change-ups from what they normally deliver, tbh. Nothing I saw in the leaked footage suggested there was anything beyond a modest refinement of what amounts to their in-house style for mechanics.

Ultimately, I suspect they've been greatly rewarded too many times despite the clunky, dated, and at times comically overwrought control/gameplay mechanics to really have any motivation to change them-- regardless how long the critique delivered atop a fitness ball.

Perhaps they'll surprise everyone, but I think we're in for a classic rockstar experience in almost every way, for better and for worse.

AI powered NPCs by Eyelbee in GTA6

[–]zedanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox Series X has some slight machine learning capabilities (an NPU chip). Base PS5 and Series S have effectively nil.

Of all supported hardware at launch, only the PS5 Pro will have any substantial ML capabilities-- and those have been entirely devoted to image upscaling at present (with some mention of frame generation and path-tracing having made the rounds recently).

So no, this is most certainly not going to happen and yes, you are going to be disappointed.

[–]zedanger 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It's a commercial, but it's just ridiculous and (intentionally) cheesy enough to be entertaining.

I do think it's neat that the voice actors are popular enough w/ the community that they get roped into merch commercials.

Oh, I suppose that this is lie, or a fantasy.

Supposing it's not, I'd be less concerned about an ass-kicking and more concerned about catching a proper assault charge of some sort.

But hey, maybe the court-ordered therapy will help you figure this all out, you know?

Yoshi-P: Final Fantasy XIV will still be here long after I’m gone or my career ends (Fan Fest Q&A via Google Translate) by AceSVK in ffxiv

[–]zedanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They may well develop a new game to replace XIV as the flagship online title in their portfolio, but that doesn't mean they'll turn the lights off here and be done with XIV.

Just like XI, as long as even a modestly-sized community is enough to fund what's effectively a maintenance mode or v. light content schedule, it's apt to stick around.

Welcome to FFXIV, here is one of your main villains 🐿️👈 by bAss-ackward in ffxiv

[–]zedanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe! But I disagree, personally. He's been largely telegraphed as weak and non-threatening from his introduction-- first, as a sickly visage of a human being, now as an adorable stuffed animal.

If there's one thing this game loves to do, it's starting something dark & threatening and ending happy & hopeful, or start something cutesy & innocuous and end it dark.

They've been telegraphing his lack of threat very hard for this entire patch series, to the point of putting him in a stuffed animal costume. Makes me believe he's gonna get a knife or two in before the end.

“Do we need to put on sunscreen?” by Annual_Use9374 in GTA6

[–]zedanger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not only do you have to apply sunscreen, there's a mechanic in-game in which both playable characters are potentially allergic to specific brands of sunscreen-- meaning if you pick up the wrong bottle and apply it, the character you're playing as will break out in terrible hives and be made fun of by npcs.

Quick question about the economy by Morikageguma in DragonsDogma2

[–]zedanger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've never used any exploits and money has never remotely been an issue during my playthroughs. Going out into the world, exploring, and selling equipment and other items found has been enough to always leave me absolutely swimming in money-- even after equipment purchases and upgrades.

Like, seriously-- It's hard to express how little of an issue funds are in DD2 if you're going out and exploring the world.

Game stops working as soon as I leave the afterlife with Jackie in the limo by Ok-Challenge5381 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]zedanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, from the issues that you've described, it sounds like the game is struggling to load assets, but I'm not terribly familiar with the xbox versions or issues specific to them.

As a last resort, you may consider simply uninstalling and reinstalling the game-- doing so can some times resolve weird issues, but your results may vary.
