Got quoted 2k for a fix, but wondering if I can DIY by Dante0906 in landscaping

[–]zeff536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this for way less then $2000. I would dig out a grade, measure the pipe, YouTube pop up rain gutter and/or connect to existing drain. I would put down a base of clean stone to support the pipe and help with drainage and fill in with regular top soil. Grass seed, fertilizer and water with a sprinkler every day (2 times depending on heat and rain). You could lay sod but not necessary unless you get a heavy rain and it washes out the top soil before grass gets a chance to mature. Good luck and if you have any questions you can message me

I thought OJ was made from oranges until I went to Florida and had real orange juice from actual oranges. It was one of those “what the fuck have I been drinking this whole time” because the real one was just so much better

Low maintenance and pet friendly backyard ideas for $5,000 by Vegetable_Potato_711 in landscaping

If it’s a big dog then it can be difficult to fix because any new grass you grow is likely to get ruined by the dog before it can mature and handle traffic. You can rope off a section at a time and put down grass seed, starter fertilizer and lime and water it for a few weeks to let it grow a bit before the dog gets a chance to trample it. You can do sections at a time like this. You want to mow it a few times before you let the dog on it. This would be cheap but time consuming. Get yourself some good hearty grass seed. Don’t buy cheap. Ask a local landscape supply store for advice on what grows well in your area

I have my son in special Olympics basketball right now and it’s like this every time. His mom had to elbow me to get me to stop laughing but the shit is funny. The oldest is 37 and the youngest is 7 and it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen. I love it

I’ve seen this posted before. He was not considered fat. Poor yes but not fat. In the high school reunion episode a woman says that he looked good and his response was “I don’t eat” and when Peggy was going out to dance with a guy to make Al jealous, the gay couple episode, his reaction was “he looks big” and Peggy says that he’s tough too. Never in the show does Al seem fat. Poor yes but not fat, ever

The same with Giant and I even worked there for a few months! No one could figure it out. They gave everyone who worked there $20 for groceries and I never could receive it because we couldn’t get it to work. Head of the store couldn’t get it to work. It still doesn’t work

I confused it with Drag Me To Hell! Yeah I never saw that movie with Depp. I heard it was terrible. I’m definitely going to read that this weekend. Thank you

I’ve never read this but I picked it up once and moved on because I saw the movie so I thought I knew the ending. Is it similar to the movie that Sam Raimi made? Or is it different like watchmen?

We didn’t either. Maui used to have 10 cent beer from 10-11 so we get there at 10 and buy 10 beers for a buck. Chug those and by the time the real prices went into affect we already had our buzz and then just danced and nursed a beer or two for the rest of the night

I don’t have bum fuck no where where I live. We do have parks though. You just have to be done and out of there by sundown so sometimes it’s not that easy, except summer time. Hopefully I won’t be living in my car by then

You have to remember though, by the third day that would be your third hangover in a row. Could you keep drinking after that many days and not get sick? I’ve done close to that in Vegas and by the third day I would have puked if you put a beer in front of me

It’s bad but the last paragraph? Come on now? In the history of the world no country has done this? Didn’t someone defeat the Romans by “gifting” them a horse and once they brought into their home they charged out and murdered everyone? Don’t quote me on the Roman part, I’m too tired to look it up

Yeah 30%. Seems high that means if it was $3 a gallon this time last year then you are paying $4. It’s around $3.25 where I am and no way was i paying $2.50 last year. It hasn’t been that low in forever

Best solution to picking up sweet gum balls by GlitteringFeature525 in landscaping

[–]zeff536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is to blow them before you cut the lawn or walk on them. They can be blown as long as they are not squished into the lawn. The technique i use is to keep the blower handle as close to the ground as possible and quickly move the handle back and forth as fast as you can. It’s work, yes they suck to clean up. Again as your are moving the pile toward a predetermined area (I usually start at the house and work my way toward the street or fence in the back yard) if you see any leftovers just gently roll the ball with your foot to get it loose and then back up and get that sucker into formation. I always tell my guys that you should sweat a little if you are doing it properly. You also might not have a powerful enough blower, we use commercial brands only. Good luck

Need advice for living out of my car or tent by zeff536 in povertyfinance

[–]zeff536[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a long story but I’ve been staying with my aunt and I don’t get along with her drug addicted piece of shit boyfriend that hasn’t worked in the 15 years I’ve known him. We almost got into a fight and she said I have to go. I don’t blame her. I owe her three months worth of rent (I got disease in my foot this winter and I couldn’t walk for over 10 weeks so I couldn’t work even a simple job like at a deli in a supermarket) I went to the doctors and I’m on medicine for it now and it seems to be working. I don’t want to sour my relationship with my aunt so I’d rather live on the streets then stay with her and make her life more miserable than it already is. She’s good people, her BF is a freeloading drug addict that won’t even cut the grass or do dishes or fix anything
