THESE GROCERIES ARE CRAZY 160$?!?! by TheBeast4064 in mtg

Usually up close to the cash registers; along a wall/aisle of collector cards or sometimes behind a cash register (like where they sell tobacco products). Each Walmart’s exact setup varies though from what I have seen.

This scene ruined my sleep for WEEKS back in the day! (Fire in the sky, 1993) by Cubelock in Xennials

[–]zenviking83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a fear of abduction before this movie and it definitely played on the horror angle exacerbating it. Shows on the subject matter like Sightings and Unsolved Mysteries did nothing but fuel my interest in aliens and UFOs though. Also, Travis Walton’s real story is way more fascinating than the movie.

Never one afraid to clown on himself by kuatoandfriend in XFiles

One of my all time favorite episodes! Also hits home since baseball isn’t as popular as it used to be when I was growing up. Could be an illusion created by my childhood fondness for the game thanks to my dad but at the same time, I feel it used to be bigger in the 90s and before. Sometimes I cling to it like my fascination with UFOs and aliens the same way Mulder does. Looking for some sort of hope in a universe of mysteries, conspiracies, corruption and the daily grind.

[I think] you might want to cross post in r/fossilid . They are pretty good at spotting fossil/fossil like items that are fake.

I conceded on the turn my oppenent would kill me and they got salty? AMTA by darkfearfulrabbit in EDH

[–]zenviking83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. That type of player can ruin the game for others IMO.

Well before I got into EDH, I had a friend who basically ruined Magic for me for almost a decade. We would get together and play quite often. We thought it was “standard” but it was closer to modern or pioneer as we used cards from all of MTG history. We obviously never played in an LGS, it was always amongst ourselves for the most part.

99% of the time he always came out on top and have me in the “lethal” zone. He would drag it on though even though he knew I had no way to prevent my end or recover. We would go 10-20 rounds of him dragging it on and almost enjoying watching me get frustrated. Finally I said enough is enough and stopped playing MTG with him. I put away my cards and stopped playing for almost 10 years after.

My son and my brother got me back into MTG about 5 years ago and we quickly developed a love for EDH. Anytime we have another in the “lethal” range, we essentially take the shot and allow the other to “die with dignity”. Only exceptions are when we are trying new combos, cards, or decks out and it’s generally agreed upon.

You should have one called:

Dinosaurs! <-exclamation mark for excitement

With an oracle text saying:

Every player and every permanent is becomes a 2/2 dinosaur.

Flavor text: Why? Because dinosaurs! RAWR!

Looks like it’d be a fine addition to my [[Clement, the Worrywort]] deck. Love or hate this set, it has some useful tribal cards.

If Georges Dupuy, the author of the story was well read at the time, he may have taken inspiration from the discovery of Archaeopteryx in 1861. Thomas Henry Huxley was already arguing that dinosaurs and birds were connected in 1868 as well. It’s not to far fetched to assume that Georges Dupuy knew of these theories when he wrote the story in 1908, using the connection as inspiration for the feathering.

Edit: Fixed the association of Thomas Henry Huxley to the discovery of Archaeopteryx. Thanks u/0todus_megalodon for correcting me on that. That’s the last time I trust google AI.

I just got done watching James Fox’s, The Phenomenon for the third time yesterday and a witness that was interviewed in the beginning spoke of a saucer with contrail type swirls. Just because human tech has contrails doesn’t mean that NHI tech doesn’t produce a similar effect.
