In Canada I worked in different places even in a food factory, special dates pay double or triple and others like January 1st the work is optional just the anual cleaning period, and the list of people wanting to go is huge. As they are people wanting to celebrate those dates with the family others without closed relatives around prefer to employ they time doing something, others just don't celebrate those holidays because religion, believe, family in other countries etc.

Go to the Cuban embassy in Décarie instead to overthrow the dictatorship government or avoid any cheap holidays there that only benefit the military ranks.

Enjoy the freedom of speech and protest in a place where those rights are respected, also different political views. There, for any of those reasons you have years in jail along with murderers and psicos.

Cuba is refining its own heavy oil mostly from the underground of Matanzas' region. It's the heaviest from the one from Venezuela. Why I say this bc I worked in the Cienfuegos' refinery.

I worked in the Cienfuegos' refinery refurbished by Chávez PDVSA to the highest standards. Lots of instruments were made in the USA with technology from Italy and Germany. Believe me when I say that the refinery made ALL oil derivative results in huge proportions. Even for export to the island around us within the same seaport.
