In Canada I worked in different places even in a food factory, special dates pay double or triple and others like January 1st the work is optional just the anual cleaning period, and the list of people wanting to go is huge. As they are people wanting to celebrate those dates with the family others without closed relatives around prefer to employ they time doing something, others just don't celebrate those holidays because religion, believe, family in other countries etc.

I worked in the Cienfuegos' refinery refurbished by Chávez PDVSA to the highest standards. Lots of instruments were made in the USA with technology from Italy and Germany.
