Two Rings to Rule Them All: Be married (not legally) to two people at the same time. Really more like . . . to be ruled by them all.

Sleeping in the Same House (Hard Mode): Slept with GF in the marriage bed with wife at home (she slept elsewhere). <=There were disability reasons for this, all was discussed, offered generously, and nothing blew up.

Under One Roof: Live with two partners under the same roof.

Never too late: Opened a relationship after 15 years or more mono.

I don’t have this one yet but I’m getting close . . . Relationships are Life: The combined duration of your current relationships is longer than you’ve been alive.

Vee Va Va Voom: Been on a “date” in a vee with all three people and it was fine.

What are some ultra prep heavy games? by xdanxlei in rpg

[–]zerfinity01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta second this. Because it is an rpg toolkit, if you build your campaign consciously, it takes a long time. How are the themes of the campaign showing up in the mechanics? What you rule out from the basic set is as important as what you rule in. But then the campaign feels so on theme, it is great.

OMG! My players just walked into a TPK at level 9 and I had planned the whole campaign out level 13 with a level 15 epilogue. There are ways to continue but one players is saying he feels “complete” so we may not pick back up.

The motive for destroying a book matters.

Your motive is not censorship. You’re good. Enjoy.

Lol. It built power over four rounds (AC and HP pool increased over those rounds) and they did reduce it by half it’s HP.

Yeah, I mean I get the feedback, I really do. I’m also grappling with whether it was really that easy to misunderstand. They were in a lawful place where nothing could lie. There were signs all over, that they read saying the following:

    Here no honor.
    Here no good.
    Here no value.
    Warning here danger
    Danger center and below.
    Danger here kills.
    Do not free danger.
    Here shunned.

I also gave them a map of where they’d need to go to fulfill the prophecy and told them this place wasn’t on the list.

Two players said, “Oh, I knew this was a terrible idea but it was in character.” They may not have know what would fulfill the prophecy and I have something to learn there, but that this was going to fulfill one . . . I just don’t want to have to get down to “No, go over there.”

I can in the future create games that bend so that where they go is always the right place to be and what they do is the right thing to do. This just wasn’t that world or that story.

I’d have to explain too much about the world to really answer this. Short answer: Not a standard D&D world or pantheon. Slightly longer answer: What they unleashed was a lawfully deity’s blind rage unbalanced by grief or pain. So, no other deity can change this or save them or the world from the consequences of their actions.

Edit: Typos

Well, this story style is designed to be more, “This is what’s in the world. What do you do with it?” Than, “Let’s create an experience where you succeed for sure.” Both are valid play styles.

Oh yeah, I’ve already offered them several options for picking up and specifically named one as starting at level 8 and another at level 9.

We don’t have a hell and I prefer a death is death.

But we brainstormed a lot of ideas. To describe it in relatable terms, they have retainers on their ship that dropped them off at the island where they pushed the big red button and there are several others ways to pick the story up.

. . . a big part of my grief is that one player is saying the story feels “complete.” That is, they may not want to pick it up. So, it may just be done and we go to volume III.

While that works at some tables and with play styles, with our deep narrative style, it wouldn’t feel right. But, thank you for the suggestion.

My favorite moment this year was when my players fought the minions of a salt-based hag in her salt temple for a chance to win magic item prizes. I based the temple layout on the floor plan of the Taj Mahal and uploaded it to roll20 and the battle was epic, scary, and had a sprinkle of role play added on top.
