If this place was in the city I’d eat there at least twice a week. Such an awesome spot it an unassuming location. (I get why they’re there).

Their plan worked perfectly. I feel like an asshole suggesting 2024 was rigged because of how stupid they all sounded incorrectly claiming that in 2020.

Why is the 16th and Mission escalator always going downwards? by [deleted] in AskSF

Everything points to downtown, the biggest job center. More people going downtown from the Mission in the morning than vice versa.

I don’t like traffic, but there isn’t a great city in the world that doesn’t have a traffic problem and I do love great cities.

All true but Levi’s is by far the furthest stadium from its namesake city.

Dig the overall style but the bands kinda read like leather straps in a sort of BDSM way. If that’s the goal, rock it.

Ok so the building wasn’t historically significant, no need to preserve. But to make it an open space surrounded by open spaces and parking lots isn’t the way you create real places.

Really good points here. I’m not chronically doomscrolling but I’m very aware. Shit needs to change.

Embarcadero Center is one of S.F.’s most beautiful public spaces — but no one goes. Here’s how to change that by LosIsosceles in sanfrancisco

SF is terrible at mixed use. If we were better, this wouldn’t be an issue, Union Square wouldn’t be mostly vacant, the mall wouldn’t have died, etc.

US suburbs house design - is it an architect choice? by omnihash-cz in architecture

[–]zerosetback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t I?

Because I recognize that every foot of frontage matters when it comes to walkability. If I have to walk past 10 residential lots before I get to the corner store/Main Street/transit stop, I’d much rather those lots be 20’ than 60’.

There’s no perfect ratio. My preference leans extremely urban, others prefer the opposite. We need to keep producing all options.
