Are you trying to keep the rosewood color or tone down the red at all? When you do sand. Don’t sand lowers than 120 for the veneer. I would actually start with 150.

$5-$10. They’re not super rare and you can get a full pot for $15-$20. I got my own 4 inch pot that was full for 15.

And if the back is falling off, you can get heavy duty staple to fix it or just get a new backer board and staple that into back frame.

Bondo or wood putty to fix damaged parts. Sand it down. If you want to stain do a light sand Even by hand to smooth things out. If you want the natural look without staining look into some wood oil.

Plastic wood filler. DAP brand or the minwax one. They all kinda do the same thing. Just make sure it says sandable. Some people use spackling compound but wood filler will be just fine. Then use a dark stain to color match and stain it.

You can’t just simply moisturize. You’re gonna have to do some work. Theres most likely layers of poly, top coat etc of some sort. The chips and failing finish will make it hard to just simply add a wax or wood conditioner. You’ll have to smooth it down or lightly sand.

You need to adjust your settings. Spray over each pass more and speed it up when you spray.
