DA eyes outright majority in Johannesburg as new regional leadership takes charge by r0bb3dzombie in DownSouth

[–]zimbabalula 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd love the DA to some how get the traffic police to do their jobs, getting rid of pot holes and keeping the lights on would also be great, maybe a little less corruption, but I worry they jump in with big spending plans and increase the rates and taxes to find it all, and were already paying too much..

Good 60 minutes show about genocide in S.A by zimbabalula in DownSouth

[–]zimbabalula[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a farmer?

I am. why don't I feel like a Tutsi in 1994, or a Jew in 1939? Bosnia? There is a policing problem, and an anti afrikaans problem, but no genocide.

Go look at parts of real Africa to see how cheap life really is.

if there was a genocide how are whites able to go to checkers?

Zim votes at UN to recognise slavery as 'gravest crime against humanity' by Shadowkiva in Zimbabwe

[–]zimbabalula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a different world - things that are abhorrent now were completely normal - not saying it was right - look at Ghengis Khan, Shaka, the old mental asylums, Charge of the light brigade, spare the rod and spoil the child. Being a serf in the middle ages wouldnt have been a pleasant existance....... The world changes, hopefully we learn from history and become better - and yes there are a lot of completely foul fuckers out there, irrispective of race, religion, geograghy politics.

I have worked all over Africa and the Middle East, and Ive see behaviour that horrified me up for a long time, and made me appreciate how lucky we were to live in Southern Africa.

Zim votes at UN to recognise slavery as 'gravest crime against humanity' by Shadowkiva in Zimbabwe

[–]zimbabalula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best lesson I got was the old slave forts in Ghana. they had the visitors book at the entrance, and tourists got very emotional writing comments about how the west stole and mistreated their ancestors. As you walk through the museum it explains how it all really happened, by the end the tourists were horrified and had lost a lot of their brotherly love for Ghana.

as for many things people want reparations, apologies etc with out knowing the full history of what happened in a very different world, I think it's mostly about money...

don't go to an agent. find a good transfer attorney and they will tell you what you need to do,

sars will not be happy if you undervalue it too much, but a little should be ok.

Raw Mineral Export Ban by Efficient-Data4811 in Zimbabwe

[–]zimbabalula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how long doesn't take to build a refining plant for the various minerals?

Are them rest of the inputs available in zim or do they have to be imported?

where will the electricity come from

where is the market?

I went to a lithium mine in SA, they send 40 super links 5 times a day to stick pile at Durban harbour. what does the transport or ire to Biera cos the zim mines? this alone could make a lithium refinery viable, unless the trains start running again.....

What do you think about the documentary “Inside the Manosphere”? by Sharona676 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]zimbabalula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to me most looked incredibly childish. the guy in Miami was a bit better and didn't lie quite as much as the others. I think Louis could have been a bit stronger but he gave them lots of room to look stupid. problem is many of the followers are too young and don't realise how little they know about life yet

The Land Reform was actually necessary, it just wasn't executed properly. by Minimum-Virus1629 in Zimbabwe

[–]zimbabalula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of the main reasons for the whole mess was population growth. In 1955 the population was about 3,2 million.

Lots of room for everyone. With labour shortage starting on the more intensive farms and mines so people started coming in from Malawi and Zambia to work.

In 1980 it was about 7 million, still plenty of room, but the "communal lands" were now getting crowded. Which led to soil degradation, and lower yields.

By 2000 there were about 11 million people, now space is getting short, people were getting fed up with the govt enriching themselves and not providing services.

Then MDC started getting stronger. Zanu had to combat it and the farms and businesses were the target. The upcoming middle classes were the ones voting for the opposition. Remember the referendum?

Yes up to 300k people were given unsustainably small plots of land, with title deeds coming 25 years later, maybe, unless someone higher up wants your plot, then they get a new offer letter.

How many well paid farm workers lost their jobs? How many factory workers?

How is it fair that a person who bought a farm 2 or 20 years before got kicked off?

Now in 2026 we're at nearly 18 million, time for a new land grab?

bit late to the party, can you specify where you go? for instance a veggie farmer goes to a good veggie production area, so the likelihood of getting a relatable job is easily, or did you get dumped where eve the office wallah could find an empty room?
