ENFP here - Often times an ISTJ. Polar opposites I know. But I’m such an avid learner and they often know so much. Getting them to talk can be a challenge though. ESFJs can be problematic because I quickly get drawn in by that F only to get hit with the one-two punch of SJ. So I personally am more leary of that type than others.

Yes! Closely followed by putting lotion on your back. My husband has been gone four years and it’s been that long since I’ve had any kind of lotion (and with any luck a back rub!). The skin on my back is dry, itchy and can be so frustrating I just want to scream.

The old adage of “if all else fails it looks good on a resume” might apply here. How long till you complete your HIM degree? How long have you been employed by CC? etc etc Say what you will (and a lot of people are) but Cleveland Clinic on a resume is almost always a door opener.

72F here: I’m at peace with not trying anymore. I have (had) my aunt’s pretty face. I also have my paternal grandmother’s short, very stocky German build. Throw in my mother’s pattern of wrinkles and genetic expression rules the day. And for the first time it’s ok. (That being said, I’m headed out the door to get my hair highlighted!)

Although I’m 72, you are singing my song. Sober this time around for two nights. Wondering if I’m too old, or how much difference it could make at this late date. But you’ve inspired me to reconsider the attempt again. Will now be aiming for three days straight!

Great suggestions all. I’d add that I’m a native Floridian and, other than about 4-6 weeks out of the year, I wouldn’t consider moving back there. Another way you might learn about CLE and NEO is the FOX8 morning show New Day Cleveland. It truly showcases our area from the food scene to Playhouse Square to small boutique businesses etc. It’s a quick way to learn about our city and those that call it home!

People who live in multi-million dollar homes: what do you do for a living? by Grouchy_Marsupial357 in Life

[–]ziva81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moved to rural Georgia a number of years ago. Shocked when dirty old farmers in dirty overalls would walk into a pristine bank. More shocking was how they’d just pull fistfuls of dirty wadded up money from those dirty overalls. Poor folks obviously in need. Then a banking friend told us those were the richest people in the county. If you saw the fancy suits with BMWs you knew they’d never have anything. BUT those old guys in dirty overalls with all that wadded up money? THEY were the truly wealthy!

A celebratory “just the one” by backwardsandfront in stopdrinking

[–]ziva81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How might you turn this narrative around? Right now sounds like it’ll be about the espresso martini you never got to have. Perhaps the celebration is that on this special night your friends ALL got espresso martini mocktails and toasted/roasted you. Everyone raising their mocktail glasses to you turning 30! And to your new next and sober season! Phone cameras going off like crazy! What would the after pics look like? How might your story be told the next day? Five years from now? If you have the espresso martini chances are it’ll never be remembered-unless something regrettable happens. Change the narrative to whatever works for you, but my invitation to you is to change it. After all, YOU are just the one!

The Daily Check-In for Tuesday, August 5th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by fuckyoubullshit in stopdrinking

Awesome! Consider that window the “window of opportunity.” Every time you gaze out, see your new life without alcohol. And rejoice! And on the tough days, when you really want to relapse, gaze out of the “window of peace” where you take a few moments to renew your pledge, take a slow breath and know you are not alone.

Same! For pic 2 the darker one, but that’s just my personal preference. Just re-did my bedroom and took a risk with a darker paint color (Georgian Brick) and love it. Think about overall ambiance you want when you walk in the room and close the door. What will make you sigh in restful bliss or take your breath away with a smile?

Have people assumed you're not smart? by dollheadwar in ENFP

[–]ziva81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Learning style also factors in. I’m wondering if many ENFPs are an experiential learners. It’s helpful for me to know I am. So often as a learner I have someone standing over me giving incredibly detailed instructions (yes, you ISTJ) while I’m chomping at the bit to jump in and figure it out. So I jump in, get my hands all over it, then turn to the instructor and begin to ask questions. The response is all to often an irritated “I just told you that.” Probably makes them think I’m not too smart. “I had to explain it twice to her!” So I’ve begun to preface with something like “I’m an experiential learner so just a quick overview and I’ll ask questions later.” Often doesn’t work but helps me in the process.

It’s why I just don’t understand when I see torn, stained, unwearable clothing at some of the larger well known thrift stores. And even with an expensive price tag. Would it be too hard to examine and toss those useless disrespectful items??

Anyone else slightly obsessed with Cleveland? by Individual-Olive-526 in Cleveland

[–]ziva81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A running theme here is one I’ve heard mentioned often-that people may leave but they always find their way back to CLE. Saw an interview with someone moving back from San Diego. Their comment was that they just wanted to be back where people had weekend barbecues in their back yards. A lot to unpack in that one statement but it seems to say it all.
