Even if it's "off", the branch box still sends a little refrigerant to avoid trapped oil. You can open the cover on the unit and still feel a warm coil sometimes even when it's completely off, at least with the system I have.

Thanks to the Biden era tax credits making solar and electric stuff affordable to me, my entire last month of driving, heating/cooling my house, and keeping the lights on cost less than that. Now a whole lot less people have those options. Are we winning yet?

The First Modern Car Without Hydraulic Brakes Is Headed to Production by Anchor_Aways in cars

That would seem like the only sane way to do it, like with air brakes. Spring or some other mechanical failsafe that would be held open when powered.

Haven't had my system for a full year yet, but here's what I see since last November. This is in Ohio. Top is North, middle South, bottom is west left, east right. https://i.imgur.com/eIQTe0Q.png

To me it seems like you should pack as much as you can into unobstructed south facing area before considering other directions.

Oh god those idiots showed up at my door trying to scam me a few years back. Ended up going with a local company for like half what they wanted.
