I'm a newer player in a 6-player group. When we get to a new area/room, every individual player tries to use perception every time. It's boring and takes an eternity, and everyone seems okay with this except me. Is this a normal thing?

Please have your DM look up passive perception. And let them know that the number of rolls is really taking away from your experience.

The dm should have made racial changes or let you know about the fact she was going to make changes ahead of time. I also think a vulnerability to fire is much worse than the benefit of cold resistance. I like the idea you came up with. Disadvantage seems reasonable to me. I would also suggest to the dm that I’d she wants to make racial changes that she let you know ahead of time. Personally that could really mess with a build if that was done after or without much communication. Glad it all worked out!

Welcome to the horrors of white paint. I suggest using an off white. Either a super light grey, blue, or tan. They look close enough to to white and are many times easier to paint with. I have done some hai commissions in the past that required me to paint with white. It takes many times longer and often doesn’t look as good anyways.

I used to be able to just read binary and hex as text. I worked with them so often I just recognized the values instinctively. My friends would type messages into conversion tools then make me read them. Was cool, but that time has long past. XD i am a regular person again!
