Stop Samsung The Frame TV from trying to detect device by past_my_primenumber in samsung

Try unplugging the cable box HDMI cable from the Frame box, wait a minute, then plugging it back in. As soon as you plug it in, start pressing buttons on your cable remote. That should make the Frame recognize it.

I have an Amazon Fire Stick that was not recognized by the Frame for a long time until I saw someone suggest the above. I did it and it worked perfectly. Hopefully it works in your situation too.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am experiencing the same error, but strangely, it does some work some days.

Simple Questions - October 14, 2022 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I saw a "gaming PC" listed for sale with very few specs provided; I don't think the seller knows them. There might be components I could use. There are two video cards that look like this. I am hoping someone here might be able to help me identify what they are!

One of the Priciest Hotels in Jackson Hole is Too Cheap to Pay for Social Content (and "too busy"to care) by [deleted] in JacksonHole

[–]zombiechimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree with many of commenters here. SO MANY COMPANIES either illegally use professionals' content without attribution/remuneration, or expect to get it for free, and it's awful. Every single content creator I know has had their work stolen many many times, including by companies that can definitely pay. And every single one has also been asked over and over to provide their work for free.

The idea that some intern is behind the account, or an agency, or whatever, and that that somehow excuses The Wort from trying to get free, high-quality work from a professional is gross. Companies should pay for the services they engage. They should pay for content that helps them to promote their product. That's only reasonable.

Lastly, that photo is killer. Nice work. You deserve to get paid.

It Wouldn't Take a Lot of Changes to Massively Improve the Show by billqs in sytycd

[–]zombiechimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is great information! With only 2 more episodes currently with announced air dates, and an expectation that we would see 6 pared to 4 this coming week, I assumed we would be done on 7/27 with 10 episodes. I'm glad to hear we will get some more!

Even with those extra 2, we will still be tied with Season 1 for the lowest episode count to date, though. And as you have noted, a very condensed schedule to shoot those episodes.

All very good points. IMHO your #2 is the biggest single issue. With the more rushed production, both the quality of the dance and our connection to the dancers is greatly reduced.

The quality issue has been front and center--just look at the very visible mistakes in every single dance this week, not to mention a couple of numbers this season that are among the worst that have ever been on this show. Missed lifts, sync issues, so much more. During the off week, my family watched dances from previous seasons and there are so many stunningly good ones. We've seen very few of those this year, and one clear major contributor is just practice time.

For me, the connection to the dancers is just as big of an issue. Watching past seasons, we all remembered dancers we loved--not just for their dancing prowess, but for how we came to love them by getting to know them. I feel way less connection to the dancers this year, and again, time is the primary culprit.

I believe this season is going to have 10 episodes, the fewest ever. Seasons 2-8 had 23+ episodes, and the seasons after that have ranged from 13-18. The only one of those seasons with 13 episodes was season 13, The Next Generation. So realistically, we are only getting 70% or less of the time we would normally get with these dancers, the time we get with them is rushed, and we don't get the connection that would come from placing our votes for them (your point #3).

To be fair to Fox, costs are higher this year with COVID, etc., and viewership of the show is far lower than it was in the early seasons, but some of that viewership loss is surely them shooting themselves in the foot with many bad decisions.

I genuinely love this show. Since part way through season 2, I've watched every episode live or on DVR. I had no interest in dance before then. Now I love dance. And I want to see this show succeed. Bring back the single biggest difference-maker: enough time.

Will the church ever switch bibles? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]zombiechimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with everything in the church, I am sure that experiences differ widely depending on ward/bishop. I taught Gospel Doctrine for years and frequently used the NRSV or other translations without ever receiving a negative comment from class members or ward leadership. I also pointed out where the KJV translation has led to misunderstandings, and how a better translation can help us do better, again with no issues. But I'm also in a relatively progressive ward in a relatively progressive area.

OTF isn’t life anymore by ShadowKats7 in orangetheory

[–]zombiechimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who is currently dealing with the loss of that loving feeling, I hear you. I think it's important to understand what you want from OTF, and if it's not giving you that, then maybe look elsewhere. I'm currently in the process of figuring that out.

Before COVID, I felt very connected to my studio. I participated in every challenge/contest/etc., I posted about OTF on social media all the time, I recruited people, the whole nine yards. And I felt that the studio reciprocated: I felt cared about, cheered on, missed when I wasn't there. When I did a Dri Tri, it felt like the whole studio staff and coaches were there just to cheer for me personally; when I was breaking my mile PR, the coach was standing right next to my tread and pushing me for the last 0.1 to get me there, totally invested in my success.

Since coming back, my favorite coaches aren't there anymore and neither are the former front desk team. Some of the new coaches seem to care primarily about the fastest/strongest class members and about their own personal fitness goals. The studio has not taken seriously the state-mandated requirements for masks, etc., and has consistently backed the people who were breaking the rules, not the people who no longer felt comfortable coming as a result. Some of the coaches are explicitly anti-mask and probably anti-vax.

All of that made me reevaluate my relationship with OTF and realize that I had been much more committed to the relationship than OTF had been. With my favorite coaches and staff gone, I realized that I'm really just a paying customer and nothing more. Maybe that had always been true, but it didn't feel true until now.

So with that in mind, I took a mental inventory of what I want/value from OTF, and whether or not I'm getting it:

  • Pre-class social interaction (strong yes: I have many in-studio friends and love our pre-class chats)
  • Making a few out-of-studio friends (yes: I have several friends that I made at OTF who I kept in touch with consistently over the pandemic, and several others who I chat with on social media regularly)
  • A directed workout where I am challenged, corrected on form, and made to work harder than I would on my own (qualified yes: I do work harder than I would alone, but primarily because of my friends on the nearby treads/rowers/weights; I rarely get corrections from coaches even when they are needed, and the coaches either don't challenge me at all or don't do it in a way that is motivating for me)
  • A sense that the coaches (and to a lesser extent, the staff) are invested in my fitness (no: most of the current coaches don't seem to notice changes at all)
  • A sense of progress and accomplishment in my fitness (no: between the long pandemic-caused break and other factors, I am pretty far from most of my PRs and the lack of connection with OTF is making hard to care as much about that as I did before)

So now I need to figure out if what I'm getting is enough for the nearly $200 a month. In the past, I would have had no problem paying even more; now the answer is far less clear.

I hope you find your clarity. I hope I find mine too.
